Aaron Woods

Woods>>>>>>>Parramatta

With Arthur on the skids at the Eels, the thought of an under pressure coach bringing in a high profile signing on a big contract will play out exactly the same as with the Dogs' debacle. I cannot imagine Woods agreeing to that destination.

It would be glorious if he did lmao…

I for one hope Ivan is not considering Aaron Woods at all. We have moved on now and we are trying to put the past behind us with a new culture and a fresh attitude. In my mind Woods rejoining the Tigers would be a step back and not be the right message. I actually think he could end up being disruptive. I am no great fan of his footy anyhow. We want a hard running mobile hard guy that will bend the line and get us some go-forward - and unfortunately, that is not the description describing Aaron that comes to mind.

Get Carney on minimum wage till end of year and partner him with Foran. Their problems are in the halves there forwards have been doing a good job.

Then they'd just have a pair of busted halves. Carney is hopeless now and has been for a couple of years…

Not suggesting anything than other for the rest of the season. He is not interested in money he just wants another crack.
Havnt seen him play of late, - like you - but he was a quality player and like Benji has something to prove.

I dunno, he's developed a good offload that would come in pretty handy, imo. Our current props are just bash and barge, which is fine, they are aggressive, but if someone like Thompson could tail Woods at speed waiting for the offload that would bring another aspect to our attack.

Matulino started the season offloading a bit, but it seems to have fallen by the wayside lately, whereas Woods' offloads are more consistent - the Dogs players are just too dumb to capitalise on them, they stand way too far back & flat footed!

I don't need to have seen him play recently. 0 tries, 2 linebreaks and 8 try assists in the ESL in 17 games in 2017 tells me all I need to know when his halves partner - Rob Lui - notched 6 tries, 23 line breaks and 23 try assists in 26 games. No clubs were knocking to bring him home. He never stood out in the ESL even in his time at Catalans. There is no reason to think he's suddenly going to turn it around and be a worthwhile NRL half.

Cant argue with stats!
Stop gap solution only. He is available, would play for next to nothing and might offer an alternative that would do both clubs a favour. Nothing more than that.

Bit of clarification on his exit, Interesting listen.

Suprised re Bryce Gibbs.

Not surprised that Todd Payten and Gareth Ellis were identified as leaders in the club. But Bryce seems like a total character....

OK Gibbs was rather poor for us. Did a lot but did not do it well. I still remember him tweeting Robbie "hey how about that Cam Smith guy? Pretty good Hooker what u think?"

Bloody hell that plank. owch.

Huh??

When we let Bryce go (& Gareth + Dene Halatau) we lost our defensive line speed leader(s)!

Heighno also played with that defensive urgency @tig_prmz - the goldfish brains here only seem to remember the spilled ball from JWH....

But Chris has TWO Premiership rings as a key member of the inaugral Premiership for two different franchises!!

Post-retirement Bryce Gibbs remains a staunch supporter of OUR club!!

Bryce Gibbs was incredibly underrated. One of the top defensive props of his era.
