AFL commentators get too excited

Anyone else get sick of AFL commentators making a big deal of every goal that's scored? When you think that there's at least 20, maybe 30 goals scored in your average game, that makes it obvious that kicking one isn't really that difficult. It's a lot easier than scoring a try, that's for sure. But the way the commentators react sometimes is ridiculous.

Agree totally.
What about when there is a 'melee' and all the players grab each others shirts and the commentators say what a big fight it is.
Another thing that annoys me about them is when they think their game is 'the greatest game of all' or they keep saying something like 'Its why we love our game so much'.

I used to be a bit of a fan until the AFL began war on Sydney and Queensland. When they decided to make their move a couple of years ago, I figured this move by the AFL is not good for my number one sport. I may of only been 1 casual fan but they lost my total support. The arrogance by the people in the game and a lot of fans has driven me away from the game.

Laughable sport…everyone involved with it thinks its so important...its a nonsense.

Went to a live Swans game once to see what it was all about. I hated it. I hated the fans more. Their culture is pathetic.

The reason people go to Swans games is exactly the same reason why people go to Waratahs games, because its fashionable. I've alwayz watched the AFL and never realy noticed this about the commentators. Besides I don't think the NRL are in a position to talk when they probably have the worlds worst (Freddy). The only reason i can think of that they would carry on like they do is because of the athleticism in some of the goals kicked. You watch guyz like Buddy Franklin and Cyrel Rioli and you might understand why.
then you have guyz in our game like Freddy who just carry on like tools and get excited over nothing all because he is trying to cater to the reputation he is quickly picking up of being the worlds biggest goose in the commentary box

I actually played 2 seasons of this game out in the bush back in the 80's, after coming from a Rugby League background it was an eye opener compared to my traditional way of thinking.
The Victorians have a different outlook on things and this is why they have been so easily hoodwinked into believing that their game is the 'be all and end all' and now why they want to dominate ALL sport.
My first season playing the game ended in disappointment for me the way the officials rorted the system but I was prepared to give it another go and when I had another run with them I realised they are @#$#.
I then went back and had a couple of seasons with my local Rugby League club (who I never stopped following) when they were struggling and even though we were on the wrong end of the score board I enjoyed my time back in the League game where we were wooden spooners compared to my time in VFL where the side made the Grand Final.
