Haha Ive always found most AFL fans pretty pathetic, they take it wayyyy to seriously, life or death basically.

I used to know a girl who went for Collingwood and she was best mates with a guy who went for Geelong, 2 years ago they played in the prelim and Geelong just won, she was very pissed off and didnt speak to the guy again lol.

I think that'll be my catchcry next season for knock on's, penalties, bad calls: *cries* "Right in front of me, right in front of me!"

2 examples of how AFL figures take the sport too seriously…

1\. I read about a player who was playing in this years finals series. He asked his pregnant wife to induce their baby before the finals so that he wouldn't miss a game...Pathetic!

2\. Over this past weekend, a local AFL club in victoria won their grand final. Now as the celebrations went on two players got into a fight and one died. A couple of days later the club has defended itself for continuing it's celebrations despite the death....disturbingly wrong!

I've always thought they take it too seriously down south and this just proves it once more.

I remember seeing on the news a couple of times where fans have spat at their own players when they've walked off the ground.

And you see in just about every game where they'll show some fans that will scream their lungs out and give the ump a spray that just doesnt stop.

 that is hillarious

They're a special breed the ping pong crowd. Embarrasing really.

They are however still not as bad as the fans of the worlds most boring sport - soccer

Lol my comment on there got deleted.

All I said was "I think what the lady meant to say was 'AFL's a joke, AFL's a joke'".

Thats nothing compared to the rest of the dribble on there. I agree with the person that said grow some balls and watch NRL lol

I'll change that, after receiving a flood of replies to my comment ive realised it well and truly hasnt been deleted haha

he's a crows supporter - enough said really

as for the inducement - you'd be pretty naive to think that it doesn't happen in league as well/pregnancies are attempted to be planned away from finals (preferrably edd in the off season when they get married) - of course the best laid plans of mice and men often go awry in that department though.

the death - that's just disgusting - pure and simple.

jazza - nrl supporters prefer to hurl objects at players/officials and there's plenty of tirades that go on at NRL matches as well.

just glad collingwood isn't in the grand final - that would have done me in

I thought this was going to be a thread for AFL suppporters to discuss the game, like the soccer thread or the wrestling thread. I guess I was wrong.

Mind you, I wouldn't have anything to write on this thread if it were for AFL supporters…

Yeh thats true mate, I do go to my fair share of NRL matches, but I do think that NRL fans have a better ability to think that at the end of the day it is just a game of footy, where as AFL fans down in Vic, SA and WA struggle with that a bit more where it does seem life or death to a lot more of them.

I could be wrong though.

Saints are chokers in the NRL, Toyota Cup and the AFL. No doubt there will be some St. Kilda fans whinging for the rest of the year after todays result.

I was thinking that too

Although I think the biggest chokers in AFL would have to be Collingwood. Western Bulldogs, Port Adelaide, and Saints would be close by though.

Haven't Port Adelaide won the most premierships in the SAFL? Something like 35 I'm sure I heard and that was before they entered the AFL. Thats pretty successful.

Yeh true its about that, but I was thinking of the Port Adelaide Power in the AFL. There have been numerous finals they have been expected to win especially at home, but havnt. Theyve lost finals to Hawthorn, Collingwood a couple of times, Sydney, and St Kilda. All of those were at home and after finishing the season very high up, minor premiers a couple of times, they also lost the 07 Grand Final by over 100 points I think.

But, they did win the 04 Grand Final so ill give em that.
