I couldnt find a thread about this feller so im starting it!!

He is going unreal!!

Went very close to scoring a couple of times and took the big hit up before Apis magic!!

He is close to my fave. Defintely iunsung but not in my eyes!!

Remember him starting slowly after pre season and injuries and gradually getting better each week. Started great this year, big fella looks pumped. He will score in a win soon instead of a token try for Ennis types to mock him about.

It makes you realise how bad Klem and Stefano were. No real punch. Now we have May & Pole - so mobile and aggressive and Twal is starting and able to use his physique to make inroads for a change. He is becoming a Mature Middle after all this time - in a good way! His defence has always been excellent and now the Middle is very tight.

He played lock a few years ago and was being talked about as a rep player before being injured then came back and for whatever reason never was put back at lock until now.

Hope we stick at it with him for a while, we are seeing a different side of him and it’s working.

We saw him pass a little last year - but he is definitely looking to offload more now. I have two criticisms of him in attack at the moment: firstly he is not stuck to May and Pole like the proverbial to a blanket looking to pick up the crumbs and secondly is he doesn't get to his stomache. He is strong as a bull and fights for meters, but this plays into opposition defensive tactics as they hold him up and set the line. So his PTB speed may not be bad, but once you are held up in the tackle the defence is already retreating to get set for the next play.

Improve those two aspects of his game and he can move out of the plodders category and into being an asset.

I reckon teams knew he never passed the ball and could start resetting once decent contact was made. Hopefully at his current one pass per game, that will cause enough doubt for the opponent to stay in the tackle longer. His passing needs to mean something to though.

Official.

Will do the consolidation later.

Good OP. TWALLY is doing his thing really well and what a rig!

While i think he's clearly not a 13 as his ball playing isn't good enough, he's been excellent this year

People still see him as the plodder of two years ago, but if you pay attention, his running game is by far the strongest it's ever been. He has really good leg speed and footwork, and even has added some offloads to his game

Blokes like Twal are essential in your squad. Reliable, does a job every week and doesn't break the bank.

I reckon he'll end the year with an all time high of two tries!

I think he's benefiting from having ingredients a few decent forwards added to the pack this year and I'm sure Klem and Stef would've as well

I said it in another post. He's the new Skando. A true stalwart.

There is a strange mental toughness you get as a forward from a few seasons of only winning 4-6 games a season and somehow coming out the other side. Skando had it, and I feel like Twal has got it now. He's 28 and he knows his job. It just feels like he's at that age where a decent pro can have a couple of really good and consistent seasons in their prime.

hope your right ,Skando didn't blossom for long ,just when it counted

He’s always had the ability to offload
From what I’ve seen he’s been told in the past to just do his job and reign it in.
Hopefully we can now see him play a more natural game.,

I could live with him being in the team if it we weren't always giving him the ball on the 4th tackle. It is the most boring, predictable BS we have in our arsenal and it accomplishes nothing

I don't have the heart to rewatch but think he was exceptional but for a crucial error when I think the game was still in the balance. I was still confident until they scored that set
