Ok so ive always found Austin a much better pick over Anasta but i thought that may be just because i really dislike Anasta until i had a look at tonights game stats…
Anasta: 0 RUNNING METERS AND 9 TACKLES...... please tell me why hes in the team

Totally agree his last tackle options are terrible it's time he was tapped on the shoulder Austin is much better at 5/8 , was at the game and it certainly changed when Austin came on as well as Kapow.

I have been saying it all year but get shouted down by most people.

V Many - 1 run, 8 yards, 2 errors

Today - 0 runs, 9 tackles, plenty of errors

His "experience and guidance" would be better off on the coaching staff. Not out there on the field. He offers next to nothing. We got out of jail today, because of 2 intercepts, immense play by forwards and Sandows goalkicking.

Austin proved his value today and should remain in the team from here on in..we need to work him into the conbinations with brooks and tedesco, its not putting Anasta down, but in the intrest of moving forward, nows the time to develop the team that will grow into the semi,s and beyond!

Totally agree!! I was so frustrated with his last tackle option that at one stage of the game I shouted with all my might "ANASTA YOU SUUUCKKKK!!!!!!! :brick:
That even a few Parra supporters from a few rows down looked up to see where that came from!!! :wtf

Anasta's fine. Best win we've had in yrs and people still want to nit pick.

Sorry GNR he was woeful especially the first half - the side lacked any organisation or flair until Austin came on - admittedly he came on as hooker but it took Anasta out of the playmayking role and the overall structure improved dramatically.

Oh the things i could do with that comment Milky. I'll just say a lot of people see things you don't

I don't know what games you have been watching mate. For an experienced 80 minute 5/8, who has been promoted to captain of the team this week (though lets not worry about that) Anasta's performance was disgraceful and has been for the best part of 2 years now. 0 runs, 9 tackles in 80 minutes of football. Bombs sailing 5 meters forward and 50 meters high, knock ons left, right and centre. Anasta is THE WORST 5/8 in the comp. We have better options in Austin and Moses going to waste. Hell Fulton would probably do a better job in 5/8 than Anasta who provides NOTHING but a liability with his wasted opportunities in attack and nothing in defense. Get rid of him once and for all. I fear if we don't, he will be the bane of the club, in the latter parts of the season.

I was reading with interest to see what Anasta did in order to keep his spot. The attacking options with the Anasta/Brookes combo was appalling. Atleast Brooks made up in defense and being there for intercepts.

Anasta was an embarrassment. He has got to get out of a team that makes him look good and keeps him under the radar.

I would expect no player being untouchable with his performances.

I am on record as hoping Austin gets a decent shot at the six. However, I am quite sure that with Farah out, now is not the right time. I also think that Potter has been planning to change the guard as soon as he feels Brooks is ready, which is a little while away.

He was better than expected in the nine position when he came on this afternoon and that may be the best way to use him whilst Robbie recovers.

although i won't be sad that anasta retires at the end of the year, he will stay in the starting side and im fine that he does.

Brooks was clearly lacking direction last week, even with farah there and needed someone to pass the ball, organise people and make kicks along with himself. He can't do everything, and austin is a great attacking half but not organising or kicking.

Braith is fine, nothing amazing and could do with a bit of improvement but the whole team was dropping balls first half, not just him. 22 errors all up from both sides.

Sounds better when you put both teams entire player list errors down against Anasta's

Austin was an organiser and kicking well against the cowboys and change the direction of the game today, so I am unsure where you got your opinion of Austin.

Brooks was clearly lacking direction with Farah, with Anasta. Brooks has done well in defence lately and we wait with baited breath for him to show as a half back.

Haters gonna hate.

Anasta has been fairly solid all year. He was a little of tonight, but then again, the whole team was.
2 of those 11 tackles saved certain tries.

Happy for him to see out the year. His effect on brooks alone is immeasurable.

Anasta was solid, a good enough only player at the beginning of the season. The longer the year rolls on, the good enough, just isn't good enough.

The calming affect on Brooks excuse is dead.
