Anyone seen John Grant?

Just wondering if anyone has taken it upon themselves to go and watch him play for Eastwood and suss him out? If anyone has, hows he looking?

He's been on the ABC TV game a few times. He looks big, rangy, fast. Shows a lot of potential but isn't getting the level of scrutiny in defence he'd get in the NRL.

Dont get to carried away he wont be in first grade to start with as there is a big differenc in rugby to the n.r.l, after saying that he has potential but shifty wont rush him in which will be good for him.

Yes, scored a try on saturday taking a ball straight off a pass down the sideline and out ran chasers with ease. Was strong in defense and hit the ball up well when it came his side.
Relatively quite in the game but played well when he was involved.

Now I highly doubt he will be in the starting line up until maybe mid next year although I honestly believe this kid could be anything. He has all the skills to be an amazing full back or winger but time will tell. As others have said I believe he will be a great addition to the WT squad.

This guy will start off on the wing. Tackling technique is not near as important for an NRL winger as good decision making- ie- knowing when to rush in and close down passes coming your way. If Grant has this footy "nouse", he will be a great success. He appears to have the other wing assets of speed and ability under the high ball.

Saw him on the ABC on Saturday and he's exciting. The difference between Shute Shield and NRL is massive so it will take a bit of time to groom him to NRL standard but he should have a great future

Other than the bloke being a rugby player,i cant see too many negatives!

He comes from good tiger stock,he is 195cm and 102kegs…....and would be the fastest bloke in the comp!

I know its only Shute level.....but he looks a cut above, tackles well and can find his way tothe tryline..............he looks a fb to me,but wing no worries.

Def have a go with him, just for his size and pace!!!

Like others have said previously the standard he is playing in now to the level of NRL is a big jump. I would love to see him given a chance at fullback next year though. We are really lacking a speedstar (he will be the fastest in the NRL) at fullback who supports in general play - something he will do. He can also jump pretty high and I think would be safe in defusing bombs etc. My only concen may be his defence.
