Apathy around the club

Always seems like the people in power in our club and in the media are talking about the Tigers bright future. They play such exciting football and have kids who will all play origin. They give them an easy ride and the club as easy ride

Really the spotlight should be on the club for being a basket case for the best part of 15 years. The fact that even with no injuries and no disruptions we cant beat a Cow side with half a side on the sidelines.

Everyone seems fine with the constant 3-4 year plan. There is so much talk but in reality no substance to any of it. We seem to be going backwards from 2014, the kids get hyped up and made out like they are superstars, thinking they are heros after 1-2 good games,

Our coaches never seem too fussed with losses to make changes. They roll out the same sides week after week year after year. Its ok one more loss doesnt really matter, at least they were competitive. That seems our attitude.

Our players on big contracts have been at the club for years and been perenial loses but it doesn't seem to bother them too much. The players we do let go like Austin and Koro go on to better things.

Year in year out we miss the finals but there seems a certain apathy, lack of urgency around the place.

The fans are really the only ones who suffer. But hey look out for the Tigers next year. All talk no action. Interest in the club as a while seems at a all time ow amoung the fans, the die hards will always be there , but even they might start to drop off soon.

Its the fans that have kept the club going. Not many sporting teams can be as unsuccessful as the Tigers have been in a major competition and still survive.
I congratulate all those who were there tonight as it was very cold and what we saw was well below the standard that we expect and pay for.

When they were showing the 2005 highlights on the big screen I sat there wondering if that would still be the clubs only highlight by 2025\. Putting 2005 and 2010 aside I agree there is a lot of apathy about the club. And I'm a bit the same now. I use to care about losing a game like tonight's but to be honest it doesn't concern me any more. You just become use to it and turn up again next week.

I was there. The biggest cheer of the night was for the fireworks at halftime. No, I'm not kidding. I bet somewhere, someone is still trying to tell us to be patient.

The fireworks were brilliant. Well done to whoever was responsible for that! It was disappointing when they ended and the players came back onto the field.

I take that as a general rant, which is fair enough given what we are enduring.

I was spewing with the departures of both Austin and Koro and of course having them in the side, with a slightly more adventurous game plan would have seen us win at least a couple more than we have this year.

But I really feel embaressed to have the commentators more or less mocking the way we are playing. And I cant disagree with them.

Has nothing to do with Apathy but more a lack of genuine first grade talent.
The mockery this management team is making of the fans is disturbing. I thought we would challenge for the spoon this year however, got hopeful after our start to the season. We lost Bodene Thompson, Adam Blair, Koro,Corey Patterson, Blake Austin and signed Kev Naiqama.

It comes down to free agency next year this team won't do anything this year and may damage a few young aspiring careers in the process.

I'm so tuned out now. I used to care so much about the Tigers and their results, but now it's just meh. Too used to losing like this. On-field, off-field, just absolute basket-cases.

We could be Para….

Parra have signed two internationals for next year. We're probably negotiating with David Simmons and Bryson Goodwin

True…but we will still finish above them...

Don't know, we're both pretty bad. Given Parra have such a great record against us I'm not too confident if it comes down to it. Do we play them again?

I sometimes think we are all being taken for a ride.
The NRL seem happy to step in and "help us out "…but do they just want us to exist. ..or do they want us to succeed?
I know we have to help ourselves. ..I hate a charity mentality ...but it seems like we are only around so other codes don't get what we have and they want.
The NRL know there is a strong emotional core of support. ..They and the club play up to this...but we aren't growing...One half is dying...memberships are stagnant. ..There is no recruitment. ..and worst of all our talented kids are being taught nothing

at least we're not parra?

stuff sucks, and i am kinda starting to lose patience. that was a game which should have won no question. i have no answers though, most of the suggestions on here would do nothing.

I paid some one to work for me last night as I am self employed, Wont happen again, Hardly anyone put in last night, Teddy tried really hard & I feel sorry for him, How to fix the problem, I don't know? but I am not going to games & continually watch the crap which they are serving up to us Supporters, I have had it.

This year has been a disaster and unlikely to get any better. We are trying to bring a bunch of kids through, and surround them with plodders. Just would not happen at any other club.

This year I think we are spending half our NRL grant on coaches and support staff, but except for injury control, the place has gone backwards big time

C'mon…..don't give up yet. We've got Rod Reddy on staff don't forget!! Is there anyone with more credentials and recent success in NRL than old Rod?? Is there?? Sure, he tends to have a nap on the field and his drooling is a bit off-putting, but hey, when he's lucid he's a gun...umm...err....coach? ....type of person? Our attack is pure Reddy. Believe fans, believe!!!!
