Aust v GB in final - a bit disappointed

I thought the best outcome would be a Kangaroos v Kiwis final. Disappointed we won't see a World Cup payback match. Not sure the two best teams are facing off. Oh well!!
 
well i have to hand it to the pommies, they earned a spot in the final, through hard solid gritty football.
I was cheering them home,

kiwis seemed to lack the firepower in critical situations.

Couldn't disagree more and a pretty disappointing attitude from the site's administrator (and I mean that with no disrespect). On a personal note, weren't you looking at playing for Estonia at one point? I don't see that a pointless endeavour at all, but I'd struggle to attribute more meaning to it than the quad nations…

I find it pretty special to get up at 6am and watch a test match 10 000kms away. Bit hard to answer a 'what's the point' question. What's the point of State of Origin, what's the point of the NRL final series, what's the point of any sporting competition? Answer that question and you'll have your answer in this series.

todays crowd of 6500 for the France vs Australia game was pathetic!..Rugby League is really a single country game…The Northern Hemisphere could'nt give a toss about League
 
I hear it is very expensive for a footy ticket over there. Maybe that's why the crowd attendances are so low.

What is the point of having the 4 nations you ask Kul? To reward the players that excelled for their club teams. Ask the players if they want to play for their country instead of having a bit more of a break. I'm pretty sure they love playing for their country.

I'm tipping Australia to win by about 13 points in the Final. England have got some big forwards but they will tire quickly if we get alot of possession. Also our backs are bigger and more skillful than the English. We shouldn't under-estimate the English though. The English are can create alot of opportunities with quick play-the-balls/running from dummy half and good attacking kicks. We should prepare for this. I can't wait for the game. I'll be watching.
 
the poor crowd against France was due to them playing in Paris, if they played it where they should have in the south, the crowd would have been a lot bigger, they got over 12,000 for the kiwi game in Toulouse
 
If the reffs allow England to retreat 5-7 metres in defence like they did against the Kiwis I would expect the Poms to get up to be honest

Rain won't help the Aussies either. I reckon the Poms will be rubbing their hands together if it comes down.
 
The Aussies should walk this in :maybe the Ref will help the Poms,with some of their wild decisions.Sad to see the Kiwis miss out as I to was looking for some revenge.If it rain maybe it will slow us down,maybe.

Hopefully Lockyer and Thurston pass it to Inglis alot. He can create something out of nothing. I've been watching League for quite a while now and I already rate Inglis as one of the best centres that I have ever seen - Strong, quick, good defence and even has a good passing game.

Jennings must be very very close in taking Hodges spot as the right centre.

I think this could be Lockyer's last game in the Green and Gold…

It's garbage to suggest rugby league is a one country sport. It's insulting to the many people that volunteer in development of the game all over the world. Tell the young kids playing in Perpignan, or the trailblazers in Belgrade that they don't care about the game. Or even the 80 000 that watch the challenge cup final in England every year.

I find the ignorance, or perhaps the dismissal of rugby league's progress over the last 10 years extremely insulting. By way of example:

Cool article Timmy, like the comment at the bottom from a teacher in Norway. Hard to believe it's outstripping soccer at the school, wonder if that's more due to the teacher though, still, pretty good.

Agreed Geo, We get to play them in front of their home crowd and hopefully spank them in whilst they are still singing some silly old songs….

Seriously though, Benji's tournament is over, as is most probably Robbie's - just need the pom to make it through....
