My opinion would be this Yep let the players do it once in their career
If they want to break another contract , the player must wear some of the blame and cost if they wish to leave
Maybe even set up a particular part of the NRL which handles each case separately and makes a judgement
Think of it this way , if you or I wish to break a contract of any description it comes at a costs to US
Players need to realize they are accountable for their actions and if you sign a bad deal , no one forced you to sign it , it was your decision We need some young people of today to realize just because you don't like it doesn't mean you don't have to do it
If I was part of the NRL I'd be tempted to make these blokes do even 3 months military training to put some responsibility ,respect and accountability on their plates
