Bench utility role - who gets it?

I'm leaning with Latu on the bench, especially in the
beginning of the year, spell Api midseason when
he starts to level out. We have to take a horses for
courses approach, plus it's a long ass season

I'm of the opinion that Benji has him locked in the 17, and rightly so. I rate him hugely. I'm not sure playing some lock and hooker is best for his development, but I do believe Benji has seen enough for him to be on the bench.

I did see a scenario where we could have TDS and Latu on the bench. But that relied upon having our front rowers play long minutes and the signing of Hunt most likely rules that out.

I think Da Silva & Latu Fainu are 1st grade ready- particularly for this team.

Realistically, both players could mount an argument to be starters at a few other clubs.

Which raises my biggest concern- if we don't play both, somehow, then other clubs will come sniffing around. Yes- they are contracted. But we all know that once a player & agent get wind of an opportunity to get more money & gametime...it gets awkward to keep the player on the books.

I think Da Silva on the bench is step 1. Guy could start for us now if Api went down.

Fainu is the issue. This leads back to the idea of where Galvin plays long term. If he was to shift to #13 or #12, Fainu fits at #6 & away we go. If Galvin plays #6 long term, then where does Latu fit for the next...however many years?

I keep suggesting the Fittler/Daley/Burton path- I'd look at giving Fainu a shot in the centres if Bird is actually playing #13. It at least puts our best players on the field.
