Interesting how Bennett has come out and sort of covered/took insurance on his arse so to speak.
"After a dismal season for the Rabbitohs that saw them come one win shy of claiming the wooden spoon, the legendary coach will have his work cut out for him, and he has reportedly pulled no punches in communicating this to the current regime.
It didn't take long for Bennett to try and implement his hard-nosed style back into the Rabbitohs, as he reportedly delivered a brutal spray to the team during a meeting last Wednesday.

According to the Daily Telegraph, one Rabbitohs source said that Bennett "didn’t f..k around... that’s how Wayne operates." "
"
Given the relationship with Bennett, I wonder if our coach will take the leaf out of the learning manual too..?? Certainly, it is one way to set expectations for next year, provided Benji can then follow through with it..

A coach that doesn't have the respect of the players should not be there in the first place. But that respect is earned, so establishing ways to do this has to be one of the fundamentals )for a new coach.) As is looking at what other (more qualified) coaches are doing to add to your own repertoire.
This thread is not comparing Benji to Bennett. Rather what can be learned from one of the best in the business.

Maybe Benji can ask Unca Wayne to come over as a guest speaker.

He does come at a price ;-)

For a man of few words he does a lot of speaking. :ROFLMAO:

Benji wants to be a Wayne Bennett man manager and motivator, limited x’s and o’s coach, but he is without the 40 years of coaching experience that Bennett has put in , never mind his prior success …

It’s kinda funny but sad at the same time ..

Yup - outside looking in obviously, but it appears Benji has a lot of admiration for the way Wayne coaches - more-so how manages his players, which Benji puts a lot of effort in and I think it shows... but when it comes to coaching, he's nowhere near.

I always say this when being critical of him, I do wish him success - I would LOVE to see him succeed, but I am very very doubtful.

I'd really hoped that Bennet saw the exciting challenge Tigers would have been for him and came to support Benji, they would have worked well together.
