Blake Lazarus is the halfback that Benji needs next to him

Blake Lazarus would , IMO, be the No1 halfback choice for the 2010 season, if he didn't have the knee injury at the start of the 2009 season.

He is a much better choice than Tim Moltzen(who is a great talent,as we all know) for Benji,as he is a patient, with a great passing game. He has a fantastic footy mind and would steer the team around, ala Scottie Prince.

He has been having lessons with El Magic, and his goalkicking has improved a great deal. Yes, I a massive fan of his character, but IMO, I believe he would be the best choice to partner Benji in the halves in the years to come.

If only he had last year to mature on the field, but if he was ready to go, this would be my first 17

1\. Moltzen
2\. Tuqiri
3\. Ayshford
4\. Lawrence
5\. Ryan

6\. Marshall
7\. Lazarus ( Goalkicker)

8\. Gibbs
9\. Farah ©
10\. Galloway
11\. Ellis
12\. Payten
13\. Heighington

14\. Cayless
15.TnT
16\. Mataka
17\. Fulton

Tuiaki on the bench?

He must be thinking that Tuiaki wont be as fast after his injury and will change into a forward.

Moltzen is no fullback look at his effort against te roosters if he is the best we have got god help us, he would be lucky to make my bench

Exactamundo!!, an impact forward, is what I see his future,if and I pray, he makes it back on the footy field .
And Heighno & some of the other players Loyal Sheens has kept on , better get into 4th gear, or they MUST be dropped early for some young gun , as pressure for the 17 spots must remain high throughtout the entire season & final series

Its a good team if both Lazarus and Moltzen step up. Personally I want to see Tuiaki and Tuqiri in our back 3\. They will give us plenty of impact on our first hit-up.

Tui wont be going anywhere.
Why have the bloke bust em up through the middle when he can crush and flatten the wingers.
His foot will come good, everyone just needs to relax.
He has had corrective surgery and he is a smokey to be in the side before round 8\. I bumped into tui before the "2nd" surgery at the local newsagency and he was limping and his foot / ankle werent very responsive. I have also seen him since and he seems alot happier with how his foot is responding. He hopes to be back sooner rather than later.
:stuck_out_tongue:

On the topic of Lazarus..I havent seen too much of him so I am running with the concept "if he is good enough then he will breakthrough".

This is all "ifs" and "buts"…

Lazarus gets a massive wrap on here for someone who hasn't played for 2 years.

By the same token..
If only McCracken didn't break his neck
If only Hoppa kept his hands to himself
If only Field and McGuiness preferred Pepsi

His speed was never the reason why he was a great winger. Why would you want to move one of the top 2 wingers in the game to the front row?

Even if he does lose speed, which is only a possibility, I would still want him on the wing.

Brilliant!

If Lazarus goes really well in NSW Cup then he will get his chance in first grade during the season, especially if we get some injuries.

Lazarus showed some glimpses of class with his deceptively quick hands last weekend. Had opposition close to the ruck fooled every time. But plenty of game time this year and he will no doubt be putting his hand up and pushing for a look-in.

Judging from what i have seen from Blake Lazarus, he is just lacking a bit of pace.

I still think he has potential to be a regular first grader.

But, 2 rangas in the team?

Along with Taumata I daresay. The Tigers won't rush these two IMO.
