I hope Gibbsy returns to Wests Tigers in a couple of years bigger and better than ever. Keep up the good work and keep playing for your mates at WTs.

The way Gibbs has been playing the last month is top shelf…Gibbs will be the most missed of those leaving us in 2012....unlike the player going to the Dragons, Gibbs has a big ticker...I wished we kept him...

I for one would lovr it if Bryce was staying with us as i love him as a player and the fact he did not really want to play for anyone else. in the past 2 seasons he has cut out alot of the crap penalties and bad decisions and i beleive has been 1 of our best over the past 6-8 weeks. I know you cant keep everyone but geez it will be funny seeing him in a Sharks jersey. Cant wait till we play Them next year i can just see him and Liam in some kind of situation.

Agreed with all of the posts above. Gibbsy will be sorely missed. I hope he crushes during his final 6 or so games for us and leaves us with another premiership.

Am I correct in assuming OP is actually Steve Mascord and has linked us to his article on his own website?

Unfortunately I can't see it happening Cunno
In a few years time his knees won't be any better and with all the young talent coming through it might be a case Of Bryce Who ??
In saying that he is currently the best defensive prop in the game and he is our defensive line speed and his yardage has gone from strength to strength in attack

Shameless Steve.

**I think this article is a big heap.**

Why? I thought it was an interesting read, it contains mostly quotes from Gibbs about why he thinks his form has improved over the second half of the season. What's wrong with that?

Well at least he was smart enough to win a premiership before he joined Cronulla. We need to make another Grand Final so he can end his try scoring drought!

FUN-LOVING Wests Tigers prop Bryce Gibbs says he was nothing more than “a big heap” during the first half of this season.

Gibbs tells RLW his form resurgence is more related to off-field knee surgery than his shock departure to Cronulla. It was the firebrand of old who became involved in a push-and-shovewith the St George Illawarra pack late in Friday’s thrilling 14-12 Wests Tigers win.

“When you’re winning, everyone’s playing good but it took me a while,” the 26-year-old says. “I had no off-season. I did no running at all, had to have surgery on my knee. I’m just starting to come back for fitness.

“I was a big heap. I just wasn’t doing my usual stuff off the ball – or on the ball. I just do a lot of extras … doing a lot of stepper because I couldn’t do anything with my legs, had no leg muscles there, couldn’t do anything with my knee. Now it’s come back real good.

“I could probably play 60, 70, 80 minutes. We’ve got a good rotation.”

Gibbs added he “had to get one back on” the Dragons and has now settled into his role after being forced out of the club he wanted to be at for life.

“We worked hard to get these two wins because we lost the last two at home and we knew we had to make it up,” he said.

“For me personally, I had to get one back on them. It hurt … to get one short of the grand final.
“A month ago there were a lot of rumours going around about is and it sort of brought us close together. We just worked through it. We’ve been playing for each other, working for each other in defence and keeping teams to 12.

“There was a lot of shit out there about us. We had a talk about everything.”

It’s understood an intimation that his first grade chances in future would be limited and a small increase in pay – Wests Tigers will continue to pay part of his wage at Toyota Park – finally convinced him to leave.

“It was hard,” he says “I played for Wests since I was a kid. I grew up right next to Campbelltown Stadium. I supported Magpies, my favourite player was Skando (John Skandalis), Leedsy (Andrew Leeds), Cherry Mescia.

“I’m not going to explain (what happened). Maybe later.”

Its borderline plagiarism!

Read the RLW article which came out first re Gibbs and Fulton, and you will see what I mean.

LOL Yep, cause he sure as hell won't get another one there!
