So Foxsports sees our roster as only 1 of 4 clubs thatis perfectly balanced to overcome injuries and pandemic to keep a decent side on the field.
BULLETPROOF...
TIGERS
Halves: Luke Brooks, Jackson Hastings, Adam Doueihi (also centre and fullback), Jock Madden
Hooker: Jacob Liddle, Jake Simpkin
Prop: Alex Twal (also lock), James Tamou, Joe Ofahengaue (also second row and lock), Thomas Mikaele (also lock), Tuki Simpkins, Stefano Utoikamanu
Second row: Luciano Leilua, Luke Garner, Shawn Blore, Alex Seyfarth, Kelma Tuilagai
Lock: Tyrone Peachey (also halves and hooker)
Fullback: Daine Laurie
Centre: Reece Hoffman, Oliver Gildart, Tommy Talau (also wing), Junior Tupou, William Kei (also wing), Asu Kepaoa (also wing)
Wing: David Nofoaluma, Ken Maumalo, Starford To’a (also fullback)
The Tigers have got one of the most well-rounded squads heading into the 2022 season — and that’s with two of their players not expected back until later this year.
Adam Doueihi is looking at an April to May return from an ACL injury, while a fresh pec injury has delayed Asu Kepaoa’s return from a torn ACL to June.
It’s a massive whack to the back line but nothing the Tigers can’t handle. After dominating the Super League, Jackson Hastings is back in the NRL and will slot in at five-eighth — at least while Doueihi recovers.
English import, Oliver Gildart adds a stack of talent to the centres, while William Kei and Reece Hoffman have been upgraded to the Top 30 and Junior Tupou is a new signing.
Jock Madden is a handy understudy for the halves and unlike several clubs, the Tigers have two specialist hookers in Jacob Liddle and Jake Simpkin. They also have one of the competition’s most versatile players in Tyrone Peachey, who can cover lock, halves, hooker, second row and centre.
