CEO - Shane Richardson

To me, an outlaw (outside of being a criminal), is the belief that no one including management, fans, competition or organisational administration etc.. defines who you are. You define yourself and you dont give a shit what others think. Its a rebellious world view.
Its not a very team orientated mindset.
Add that to the silly crocodile roll (I still dont know what that means), and theres some mixed messages coming out of Concord.

Keep it simple. Our motto should be "Enough is enough".
For too long, we’ve been the bullied. The punchline. The pitied and mocked. A club that others look down upon, irrelevant to anyone but the loyal, die-hard supporters who suffer week in and week out. We’ve been a joke, but jokes don’t win games, and this ends now. We’ve been labeled as “Outlaws,” but let’s be honest, that’s not us. Outlaws stand alone, indifferent to the world around them. But we are not alone. We are brothers. We are a team. If anything, we’re the Outsiders...the ones everyone doubts, the ones no one sees coming. And that is our strength.

2025 marks the beginning of our fightback. The days of living off scraps and surviving in the shadows at the arse end of the table are over. We’re done being the club others circle on the calendar as an easy win. We’re done being a soft target, who roll over. We’re done being everyone’s punching bag. We have genuine talent, real winners, and a hunger that can’t be ignored. We’re going to fight. We’re going to scrap. We’re going to play hard, physical, and smart football. And when the arm wrestle gets tough, we’ll welcome it, because this is where we thrive.

We’ll hit harder. We’ll run faster. We'll work as a gang. We’ll leave everything on the field because we have had enough. We won’t back down. We won’t be intimidated. And when the dust settles, we’ll stand tall, proving to ourselves and the Rugby League world that this club isn’t here to be laughed at...it’s here to compete and to win.
Forget the crocodile roll, disregard the outlaws tag...Enough is enough....its a rallying cry for a new beginning and a refusal to accept anything less than greatness.
I think the messaging from Richo is to the fans and the NRL. I took his crocodile roll analogy as a fight to the death to save the club and his outlaw quip meaning we will do thinks differently to everyone else.

The crocodile roll is meant allow diehard fans to feel part of the fight. Especially since we have been bashed from pillar to post for over a decade.

I like where you are going with "eneough is enough" and I expect that very same, or very similar, messaging is being directed at the players by Benji and his coaching staff. I get the feel that we have hit rock bottom finally and will fight our way out of this mess.

I dont see why we have to re-invent the wheel.
We dont need to be Penrith or Melbourne in the way that they have found their niche which was different to what the rest were doing, and its provided success.
We need galvanisation. An us or them seige type philiosophy. To be honest, Id like our players to become the most hated in the comp. A bunch of dislikeable arseholes who treat their opposition like their mortal enemies. Maybe find some hybrid of the Dogs of War and the Manly Hates You Too mindsets. Think 2006 when Mark Omelley smashed Gibbs to the moon and they all stood over him giving him shit. I loved that. It was a totally badass thing to do.
Richo's platitudes are for the newspapers.

I get what he is trying to say, but it is clumsy and pretty uninspiring to be honest as it is a made up saying and a stupid one at that.

He needs to put his words in actions. People still have us getting the wooden spoon this year. Even with the signings we have had this year.

I don't think we'll get the spoon this year nor do i think we'll win the comp.

Im hoping to see a marked improvement this year building onto the next years.

I don't think the 8 is out of the question but i think we'll float around mid table which is a step forward.

I'm confused... what you're proposing is almost precisely what is already being done.

You say, 'Richo's platitudes are for the newspapers.' - Well, yeah, it was a press conference. It's his job. Just like what we all say on here is forum dribble.

Tucker - "We dont need to be Penrith or Melbourne"
Richo - "“We're not like any other NRL club, and we don't want to be like any other club"

Tucker - We need galvanisation. An us or them seige type philiosophy. To be honest, Id like our players to become the most hated in the comp, a bunch of dislikeable arseholes"
Richo - "We're Outlaws"

Tucker - "it is clumsy and pretty uninspiring..."
Also, Tucker - "Enough is Enough" (Sounds like an ABC Q & A sound bite)

If you're gonna disagree with something, have a think and read if that thing is actually different to what your point of view is first. Sorry, but it doesn't even make sense.

“We're not like any other NRL club, and we don't want to be like any other club. We’re outlaws,” -Shane Richardson.

The man is a genius.
Make no mistake this guy is the best thing that has happened to the tigers since 2005. For all the negative nancys , that actually expected this guy to turn 15 years of bad operations in one year. What he has been able to achieve is nothing short of phenomenal. The results on the fields will start to follow , but with this guy leading us , the future looks bright.

Yes you are confused but that’s ok. Let me break it down for you…again.
You say, 'Richo's platitudes are for the newspapers.' - Well, yeah, it was a press conference. It's his job. Just like what we all say on here is forum dribble.
Agreed. So I’m correct.
Tucker - "We dont need to be Penrith or Melbourne"
Richo - "“We're not like any other NRL club, and we don't want to be like any other club"
Two very different things. What I said was we don’t need to be like those clubs in the way that they sought to reinvent the wheel. I did not say that we would not emulate their playing style. Richo says we won’t be like any other club. How exactly? We have to be somewhat like other clubs as we are playing the same sport.
Tucker - We need galvanisation. An us or them seige type philiosophy. To be honest, Id like our players to become the most hated in the comp, a bunch of dislikeable arseholes"
Richo - "We're Outlaws"
Again, very different things. I did already explain why but for the slow ones…calling us outlaws is a stupid analogy as outlaws are only in it for themselves. It is not a call to arms team based philosophy. I suggested outsiders, maybe there’s something better. Outlaws is as dumb as the crocodile roll.
Tucker - "it is clumsy and pretty uninspiring..."
Also, Tucker - "Enough is Enough" (Sounds like an ABC Q & A sound bite)
I’ve explained why I think they are uninspiring and have also explained that my theory is simple. It’s simple because footballers are not very bright.
If you're gonna disagree with something, have a think and read if that thing is actually different to what your point of view is first. Sorry, but it doesn't even make sense.
You think you have made good points but really, they are easily debunked. I know you may feel a bit embarrassed that you called Richo a genius lmfao….look he is trying and that’s great. He is attracting players and that’s great.
The crocodile roll is stupid. It makes no sense. For starters it’s called a death roll and once you are in it you die. So he is asking the players to join him in a death spiral? Even if he’s saying let’s fight said spiral, there’s still very little chance to none of survival. That’s not very inspiring.
My point was we don’t need to overcomplicate things by navigating untrodden paths. For starters they likely do not exist. Secondly we are not outlaws, we are a team of footballers without purpose. They meander through games with different objectives. Some are happy to use the club as a launching pad, others are on their last legs and are happy to still have a job, whilst some genuinely want to fix things.
Galvanise the group and head in the same direction.
Keep it simple stupid.

Anyway, it was only a suggestion. No need to design a reply to ridicule me. Just present an argument like a man.

We're not gonna take it
No, we ain't gonna take it
We're not gonna take it anymore

It’s a well known tactic in all of life’s challenges and particularly in team sports, but for some unknown reason never used in NRL? A combination of “fake it until you make it” and” “Pygmalion”.
Remember Ali saying he was the greatest before he became the greatest. 😜 he not only convinced himself but everyone else too.
Put it out there, make a boastful claim and keep repeating it until everyone starts to believe it, friends and enemies alike. Good stuff Richo!

What a post!

Do you mean Pygmalion the play? or Pygmalion in the roman / ovid mythological sense - the sculptor who fell in love with his creation?

Used to drive me mad when Lee would say in his whiney little lawyer voice that we have a very capable roster that he has a lot of confidence in.

As long as they are prepared for all the psycho edge players to test them out.
There are beautiful red bullseyes on each of them.
