I don't want to rush his recovery but gee I hope he is back for the Sharks game
Not that I think we need him back to beat Sharks , but it would be good to one game in his system before the semis starts and clean out the cobwebs so to speak
Rowdy is going to be crucial to us winning the premiership

What he said ^ 😛ray:

I'd like to see him start from the bench in that game. Put him on at half time, Make him our "impact" bench player for just one game, to give him a solid, yet safe run.

he always seems to be back from injury ahead of schedule. lets hope that this is no different and we see him line up against the Sharks.

Would be nice but i would expect the club to be extra cautious with the type of injury Chris has.

Players with Hamstring injuries are notorious for coming back thinking the injury has fully healed then breaking down again with the same problem. Better off taking an extra week and being 110% sure its healed.
Perfect example of what problem hamstrings can do to a career is Wade Mckinnnon.

POKIES I DISAGREE I THINK THEY ARE OVER CAUTIOUS, HAVE HAD MANY HAMSTRING INJURIES IN MY PLAYING DAYS AND NEVER HAD THE SUPPORT SYSTEM THAT PLAYERS TODAY HAVE AND NEVER MISSED MORE THAN A COUPLE OF WEEKS, EVEN WITH TEARS THAT MADE IT HARD TO WALK WITH. ALL I HAD WAS A ICE BAG AND A HOT WATER BOTTLE. TREAT THE A GRADE TEAM THE SAME WAY NOW 4 DAYS ICE THEN HOT WATER BOTTLE AND SOME LIGHT STRECTHING MOST ARE BACK IN TWO TO THREE WEEKS WITH NO FURTHER PROBLEMS.MAY BE THEY OVER TREAT THEM THESE DAYS?

Interesting point of view bp, but gee when its a player like Lawrence I am not sure if there is such a thing as being over cautious.

i just think 4-5 weeks for a slight tear is over kill. but there the experts.when u think of the amount time they have to treat their injuries, day in day out it is over kill.

He is one of the fastest in league over 100m no doubt.

I would hate for him to lose this pace due hammy problems.

Don't risk anyone imo unless 100%.

Could be just the case that Lawrence is not worth risking this close to the finals, which is understandable but it would be good if he's fit enough to get 1 game in before the finals.

Agree with you Happy a game or two before the semis would be useful for the team and Rowdy but I still recall seeing him run out in Canberra last year for the semi after injury and he aimed up.

look he is the jewel in the crown for us but 3 weeks of work on his hamie day in day out should be good enought that all iam saying.but if we keep winning without him leave him on the sideline.

I think the quality of the opposition we face over the next three weeks impacts on his return, too. We are playing three teams we should beat without Chris, so the thinking may be why rush him back?

If we were playing a must win game against Melbourne to make the semis (for example) he may have been back before the final round.

not a bad idea …i mean most of the time brown is the bench player so whats the difference between him starting or finishing the game and lawrence gets a run

mind you i would rather enter the finals with a full squad in 8th position that in 4th position with a diminished squad due to rushing players back from injury(lawrence LT)

Its likely it wont matter if we finish 4th anyway as i believe manly and melbourne broncs are highly likely to beat newcastle warriors dragons cowboys in the first week an they will get the week off

Don't let him play unless he's 110% fit. I'd hate to see him come back too soon only to do his hammy again. He seems to hit the ground running whenever he comes back from an injury so I don't think it's important for him to get a game under his belt before the finals.
