Chris is a good second rower and he'd be really effective in a side like Melbourne tbh. He's great for us when we're winning the go forward battle as he gets to the defensive line really quickly because he still has a fair level of speed, especially for a backrower. On a retreating defensive line his speed causes problems. But when we're getting pushed back he's not helpful at all. I admire that he still takes hard carries though. The boy is all heart. He's going to be a huge success after football in business land imo.

Was not part of his contract extension to spread out the big back-ending of his previous contract?

Rowdy is not even close to the top of the list of people who are letting the side down. Sure he has plenty of room for improvement but the guy gets all the dog jobs - defending inside Brooks or Moses, cover defence, face-balls on the advantage line.

I think he is a lot like Robbie in that he isn't worth what we are paying him but you may as well use him because he is still a decent first grader.

Mate, we are paying him what he is worth, plus what we owed him before.

Do you get, He and Robbie were owed contract payments from PREVIOUS years.

His new contract is much lower. Maybe you want him to pay the Wests Tigers for letting him play.

Our back row is our biggest weakness right now, alongside our right side defence. ALoiai playing 20 mins as a prop in the back row. Lawrence and Lovett being tiny for modern backrowers and lacking impact. Taylor isn't huge but he's invaluable. We just don't have any big backrowers who can hurt in defence or break the line in attack.

Lawrence shouldn't be playing 80 mins, but when we have so many concussions our rotations get totally out of whack. He's always had some issues with defence, front on he's fine, sliding less so. Fatigue to players like Lawrence and Sue only exasperate their deficiencies.

On top of all that BB - I only ever hear about us looking for Props & Winger/Fullbacks… We don't even appear to be on the scout for 2nd rowers or centres??
I've said it more than once, Our biggest problem with the halves is they don't have the clout inside and outside of them...
Imagine how dangerous both these boys would be if they had guys breaking the line and attracting defenders for them like every other halves in the comp.

Every bit of ground they get is on their own...

Laughed when the commentary said last night that Melbourne left a gap open for Lawrence cos they knew he'd try to take it and they'd smash him....

And he's our best back rower!!

37% possession first half is all you need to know. The boys toughed it out and are getting better, et hooker experiment hasn't worked but to be in that game up to our ears with 10 to go says the attitude is there and that's all I want from my team week in week out.
