Coach of the Year

Laurie Daley thinks Tim is right up there with a chance of winning Coach of the Year for season 2010\. I think this is the first time all season I agree with him ! How he has turned the team around, particularly after the Souths match at the SCG, I think he would be very deserving of the title. Particularly as so many had the knives out for him and still do in some quarters. Must say Ivan Cleary has done a good job with the Warriors as well after being smashed by us at Cambo that Friday night. Brian Smith going from last to semi finals with Easts must be a chance as well.

Anyway, be great if our Wests Tigers/Australian coach took out the honour again …... he deserves it.

Couldnt disagree more…I think he has had enough stuff-ups this year to rule him out.

His selections have been on the nose most of the season,
More often than not we only use 16 players for 99% of the game,
Continually plays players out of position,
Has failed on quite a few occasions to get the side up for important games,
Has taken forever to instill a kicking game into the teams plans, still not there really,
Stuffed around Lazarus for no apparent reason,
Still uses the dinosaur play of sending our runners back into the markers to get smashed,
Took forever to fix our goalline defense...still not real happy with this
...and...pigheadedly refused to promote someone over Fitzy.

Sheensie is a pretty good coach and at times this year I've been happy with his work....but dont get too carried away with the last couple of wins - remember how we were playing before them.

Brian Smith for mine, closely followed by Bennett.

Brian Smith taking his team from dead last to the semis in his first year surely beats Sheens one-off escape in 5 years from serial mediocrity??

I think Sheens has done alright this year, but Brian Smith would have to be a short priced favorite and David Furner has also done a good job at the Raiders as has Ivan Cleary with the Warriors.

David Furner? he's developed some great footballers down there, Dugan, Vidot, Fensom. Maybe not the coach of the year but definately up there for most improved along with ivan cleary.
