Coaching Plan

Lots of people have had enough of Sheens as head coach. As much as i agree that its time for someone else to coach the boys i still think Sheens is to valuable to lose. So i thought of this.

Sheens > Coaching Director, helps the head coach and other coaches in the club such as the 20's coach.
Georgallis > Head Coach

If Georgallis fails you could simply put Sheens back or find someone new?

LOL…''lots of people have had enough''
Been 5 - 6 years for me.

It doesnt change a thing, just gives everyone a more senior role

Its a tricky one though.
On one hand a new appointment as coach from within would be positive, as the knowledge of the playing roster, its strengths and weaknesses is already there...as opposed to someone totally new coming in and having to learn all that from scratch...

Whatever happens, it will be Sheens' decision

These discussions are an exercise in futility. Nothing will change for at least another 2 or 3 yrs and the only man who'll decide when Sheens goes is Sheens

The place needs change the last thing you want is for Sheens to go upstairs and oversee the place. We need a new coach and new support staff. As I have said everyones has to be removed from their comfort zone

Lollll problem is, would we still be the free flowing exciting team that we all enjoy having heart attacks over ?
I don't want to end up like the dragons.
Nrl should be an attack game, not tight defending for 80 minutes and winning 6-0

Sheens is not the only "attacking" coach in the NRL world.

Attacking football is good, but winning football is better.

I don't care if we win by a couple every week and get accused of boring, defensive footy.

I just wanna friggen WIN

I don't think anyone would whinge about our style as long as we were consistant. Come on its all apart of being a one-eyed supporter

We have benji and robbie, even if we had bennett as a coach we would never be boring. Wish I had a time machine so that we could get hasler or McGuire, I love watching the dogs and rabbits

I might be singular here in saying this,

But Farah in the halves isn't that bad.

Case for it is - he practically played halfback AND 5/8th during origin 3 anyway, as both Pearce and Carney went missing and almost steered the ship home.

I could stomach Farah at halfback with Marshall at 5/8th as they both know each other extremely well.

His kicking game is very good. His cut out pass is gold, he takes on the line and is strong enough to bust through at times, he understands our flow and structure - really guys, whats not to like?

Miller has a great kicking game in the under 20's - but as much as I think this kid has potential, everytime he seems to kick a ball in FG he shanks it and ends up dribbling it in behind the line… maybe the FG ball has a different shape to the NYC Ball...

This would be a much different pairing to the disaster which was Farah in the halves circa 2006-2008 due to the years of play they have hadd together, and lets face it, their combinations together with Moltzen are at times breathtaking.

Iosefa is more than adequate at dummy half - he's strong, and isn't just a passenger - if he spies an opening or a blindside play, he'll go for it.

The other thing is at worst case, Farah could inject himself in at dummy half practically any time he likes to keep Souffs on their toes as well - It's not as if Iosefa would totally DOMINATE the dummy-half role.

Flame away if you like guys, but I think it could work - I just wouldn't do it forever though - he's a world class hooker through and through.

If we miss the semis he should go, and don't get me started with our injuries as an excuse. All teams get injuries and our main playmakers have played the majority of games.

A new coach would certainly shake things up. Michael Maguire clone would be perfect but not sure who is currently available

Agree completely. Farah is an instinctive enough player that if he sees an opportunity from dummy half he won't care that he's wearing the 7, he'll do it. He basically plays as a 7 with us later in the tackle count anyway and at 6 Benji will play wider and work with Ellis a lot more.

I think the place needs new enthusiasm and ideas - I would be going for Ian Millward.

He was a frontrunner when we appointed Tim and has had a generally very successful coaching career.

I think there's also room for Payten and Georgallis - two guys that I think have heaps of potential.

that is the biggest myth. he is a good hooker because of his service out of dummy half. he is the reason we are even in the top 8\. i guarantee you if he wasn't dummy half we would've lost 80% of the games we've won. it is not just flair robbie is good for, it is the BIGGEST MYTH. he is the structure of WT.

I mostly agree tig-prmz, most of Robbie's game is very structured.
