Geez, of all the wisdom i have posted on here and they pick up a throwaway line. Irony is that Chris is probably one my favourite current players and I only wish good things for him.
I met him one day at a TAB in Melb in the depths of Crown casino….i just looked around and there he was and i couldn't help but introducing myself. It was a bye weekend in 2010 and he was an emerging superstar....we spent the whole afternoon punting and talking footy. He was so humble and genuine and classy, he even brought his girlfriend (now his wife) down to introduce her to me.
It kills me to see the bloke struggling. Anyone who knows footy understands that his career has been cruelled by injuries. It hurts to see some of the pretenders out there getting the best of him because he has been played half fit. But I'm a realist and unless he moves to the backrow (you will find a post on here from me suggesting as such 2-3yrs ago), Nofo will have his position by the end of the year.
The article has misquoted me.....Chris Lawrence should never have to suffer the indignity of playing NSW Cup, drop him to the bench or take a haircut on his contract and let him move on in style (pls don't send him to Cronulla).
