Cooper Cronk

Just read an article saying that the Titans are going to try and sign him. Do you think seeing as though we're losing Ellis and Tuqiri, that we should try and go for him?

There is a thread on this forum with a statement saying were one of the clubs chasing $onny Bill and he was looking for around $800,000\. If we can even look at SBW for that sort of money, I think we would be way better off throwing that cash at Cronk or DCE.

I also read that if Storm does not offer Cronk what he is asking for, he is willing to move to Sydney.
His partner comes from Sydney and she would like to move home with their baby girl.
So I would like to think we are all in there with a chance.

i wouldnt want him for that price…
i'd prefer take a risk on a young fella like moltzen or miller and pick up another good forward or winger

buy a $ 300 k forward and keep the young guys coming through , i enjoy seeing our juniors come through , it makes for a great club

if u are saying no to cooper cronk, i'm sorry, but you are an idi0t

would i like him - obviously

would we get him - nope

He wants $2.6M over 4 years.
thats $650k a year which I think is very reasonable. And its money we should have if Ellis and Tuqiri leave. Especially if Moltzen also leaves.

I would much rather spend the money on DCE.

Cronk will be 30 next year so we may only get a couple of good years out of him. DCE is only 23 and is definitely a long term option

Whilst DCE is younger and could be seen as a 'long term' option, I would still prefer to offer Cronk a deal first.

Offering him a 3-4 yr deal would pay dividends for us because, whilst it would see an increase of our on-field success, the knowledge he could pass in to younger blokes like Miller would be second to none.

The only question with that would be would Miller be willing to stick around and gain a wealth of experience, or want to find a team that would play him in FG immediately.

We should definitely have that with Ellis and Tuqiri leaving. We will also likely let Utai and a couple of others go.

It has been said that his wife is from Sydney, CB, and if Melbourne don't come up with what he wants, Sydney could be an option to make this easier for his young family.

We may look like a more attractive option with the right price.

I'd love to have him here, we'd be mad for not making an offer, but I doubt he will leave Melbourne.

Yeah we have to have a go at the very least CB . I can see him leaving Melbourne but more likely for Qld
