Could this be it......

This is how I feel ,and even if I had 10% of the least paid player in the squad…..

I run hard and straight at the mammoth opposition forwards for all I'm worth, because I wear the Wests Tigers jumper....

I tackle anything in opposition colours, ball and all, around the legs and drive the shoulder into thier midsection....because I wear the Wests Tigers jumper...

I stand in the face of the opposition players to defend my younger inexperienced players as I would my more experienced players....because I wear the Wests Tigers jumper...

I chase every kick and pressure the opposition players relentlessly.....because I wear the Wests Tigers jumper...

I pass with precision to my teammate running for the gap and give him every opportunity to run and score....because I wear the Wests Tigers jumper....

I listen to the coach and try to understand what he teaches me,it will improve my understanding of NRL structures and make me a better player....because I wear the Wests Tigers jumper...

I respect every man, woman and child who comes to watch me play, and do my best to sign autographs and say hello..thank you....because I wear the Wests Tigers jumper....

Most of all I stare defeat in the face and say" how can we do better so we don't have this low gutted feeling after a defeat whether by one point or twenty points"....because I wear the Wests Tigers jumper....

To me its pride, it is the one thing my father taught me in life,he said to me when I played against a touring NZ rugby side when I was at the Catholic College" If you go out and do your very best and get beaten,I will be proud of you because you did your very best, there's no shame in getting beaten if you have given it your all"...not bad words from my departed dad....

Well said…my dad said something similiar to me when i was young and playing sport, the elements of doing your best, regardless of the result is based on a persons self respect and pride.

I've said similar to my son…with sport and study... Give it your all and you won't have any questions later such as... Maybe if I tried harder?

TT, Well said. Everything a fan wishes, I always scream at the telly to smash this guy do that, do this, id love to be out there, id love to have the size of Woods or Sue or some big bastard that would just kill the opposition, make them fearful to run anywhere near my side of the field and if they were stupid enough to do so they'd get some bruised ribs, id love to be The Axe or Cement Gillespie style player, smashing anything that moves and running hard on and off the ball. chasing the 1%ers. Motivating the rest of the team to do the same,

Sadly not a single player in our colours gives a toot, after the game they are high fiving the opposition players, checking their bank balance, taking selfies, twittering and working out what club the honeys are at. A day in the life of a Wests Tigers first grader.

Well said….....as fans we realize our side are not world class champions. We just want them to do their BEST........WIN, LOSE OR DRAW. THATS NOT TOO MUCH TO ASK FOR AS A FAN.

Well said, TT.
Something I was taught from my father and my first senior coach in rugby union at drummoyne rugby.
I'd love for those who put the WT colours on give this a read.

Unfortunately TT, you are looking at it as a supporter.

These blokes are wealthier than the average man on the street and get paid, regardless. Win, lose or draw they get their large pay packet.

Our players are fair weather players. We all know that. How many posts on here mention that they always buckle when the chips are down? Our culture is rubbish. End of story.

Yep, well said mate. Couldn't agree more. And that's the point - 10 average players on the ground at one time giving their all with 3 good players will get you into the finals 9 times out of 10\. Sadly, we have 13 players out there and only a handful give a toss.

If you guys watched the Sharks/Panthers game today, you would of noticed Fiffita won the medal today…his runs were magnificent..most of the players from both sides really played committed football for 80 mins...it was good to see a young gun for the Panthers score two tries....

All players from both sides seemed to play for pride on this special weekend...WTs players should watch the replay and then look in the mirror..........if they can.... :unamused:

Maybe we should forfeit the game against the Bunnies and all players work on a farm or building site doing hard work for little pay. Their normal pay should be given to charity.

Maybe then this overpaid try hard NRL players will pull their fingers out and put in an effort.

Sorry but Jason Taylor needs to go. His body language at half time against the Raiders is not acceptable. Don't care if Payten is care taker coach. something has to change

Thought much the same while I was watching TT.

You are right.

There is no pride in the club. No pride in playing for the club. Those that have pride in playing for the club quickly lose it because they become disillusioned by terrible administration, selection politics, infighting and consistent losing.

How do you install pride in playing for the team? For a start you reward good performance and you punish poor performance. Then those running out know they've earned it. Most of the people wearing our jersey feel entitled to it. And they were made to feel that way by never being made accountable for their performance. Jersey was handed to them and they "deserve it".

A guy like Addo-Carr cannot be held back. He's clearly dominant at any lower level and he actually LOVES the club. We cannot let a guy like him become disenfranchised.

Littlejohn and Drinkwater deserve their chances. Brooks and Moses are perfect examples of those who need to be made to realise they don't have a right to wear the jersey, it's a privilege. MCK has toiled and toiled at other clubs, he deserves a chance. Rankin deserved his chance. Hunt deserves a chance. Griffin by God does he deserve a chance! Grant, Graham, FINE! Fine for crying out loud, he's deserved a chance for years.

There are too many guys who we screw over while we let complacency fester in the main playing group. Enough is enough.

Throw in all the ''gun juniors'' we've developed who've been hyped beyond belief. In particular Moses and Brooks. They were earmarked as our future halves as early as 2012-2013\. As a result they are arrogant enough now to ask for 800k a yr.

In saying that we also frequently give too much of a chance to the wrong guys. How Hoeter, Lovett, Buchanan, Rowe and Milone were/are favoured ahead of some of the other options over the years. Baffling.

And to add, on top of that, the club has allowed guys like Austin and Martin to leave at their expense. Why wouldn't they have big heads, they know they're untouchable.

Exactly, and brought in GOOD halves that were immediately told they would start the year in reggies no matter what, who BOTH when interviewed said as much. It's just dumb all the way around.

Look at the Titans. They've got exactly the same situation with Taylor and Elgey, but you reckon they signed Roberts and told him he was playing for Burleigh no matter what? Doubtful. Roberts was signed to keep Elgey and Taylor hungry for their spots. We've got Littlejohn and Drinkwater who I reckon are both better than Tyrone Roberts and both have zero chance of playing first grade outside of the "gun juniors" getting injured.

Both couldn't have done more to deserve being dropped/rested/rotated out or whatever else descriptor you want to use, yet nope.

For what ever reason our club has a no drop policy and has been in place from day one of the JV. Maybe it is in the constitution of the club, but we keep picking the same players week in and week out in hope they will pull a rabbit out of the hat.

TigerTorch says we have in the constitution a requirement to have a certain percentage of the team to be Balmain/Wests juniors and we have strictly adhered to it the entire time which explains selections like Lovett, Milone etc.

If that is try it needs to be changed. We need our a side picked on form, not where you played your junior football.
