Could this be it......

TigerTorch says we have in the constitution a requirement to have a certain percentage of the team to be Balmain/Wests juniors and we have strictly adhered to it the entire time which explains selections like Lovett, Milone etc.

Then the constitution needs an amendment. That is a ridiculous requirement for a professional sports club. I agree that juniors should be given every chance to succeed first, but if they aren't up to it then a replacement needs to be imported. Simple!

I had a coach who used to say if you could still walk off the field after a loss you hadn't done enough

This had a Townsville feel after about twenty minutes and was a disgrace to the club and it's supporters

I feel for the fans that travelled and then had to travel home , it's the worst feeling ever

Well said TT it's all about pride in your club pride in yourself pride in the fans that spend their hard earned cash on membership and traveling to games to support the might West Tigers "PRIDE"

I don't think that something like that would be in the club's constitution but it doesn't matter because it's club policy and that can be changed more easily than the constitution.

Do you think coaches like Bennett & Belemy are dictated to by club administration or committees when it comes to team selection ?

Not a chance in hell, grow a set JT and pick a side & game plan you'd put your job on the line for.

Might be the only way to keep it.

I don't think he did say that, he inferred it was a preference rather than a specific rule.
Pascoe has also denied the existence of the quota, as per the other JT thread.

This is how I feel ,and even if I had 10% of the least paid player in the squad…..

I run hard and straight at the mammoth opposition forwards for all I'm worth, because I wear the Wests Tigers jumper....

I tackle anything in opposition colours, ball and all, around the legs and drive the shoulder into thier midsection....because I wear the Wests Tigers jumper...

I stand in the face of the opposition players to defend my younger inexperienced players as I would my more experienced players....because I wear the Wests Tigers jumper...

I chase every kick and pressure the opposition players relentlessly.....because I wear the Wests Tigers jumper...

I pass with precision to my teammate running for the gap and give him every opportunity to run and score....because I wear the Wests Tigers jumper....

I listen to the coach and try to understand what he teaches me,it will improve my understanding of NRL structures and make me a better player....because I wear the Wests Tigers jumper...

I respect every man, woman and child who comes to watch me play, and do my best to sign autographs and say hello..thank you....because I wear the Wests Tigers jumper....

Most of all I stare defeat in the face and say" how can we do better so we don't have this low gutted feeling after a defeat whether by one point or twenty points"....because I wear the Wests Tigers jumper....

To me its pride, it is the one thing my father taught me in life,he said to me when I played against a touring NZ rugby side when I was at the Catholic College" If you go out and do your very best and get beaten,I will be proud of you because you did your very best, there's no shame in getting beaten if you have given it your all"...not bad words from my departed dad....

I wish it was the 80's also TT. $$$ and Gen Y put paid to what you believe in years ago mate.
