Crusher Tackles

So we apparently we commited 4 of these last night....

These tackles are apparently dangerous because it can cause severe neck damage....

Am I the only one that sees these potentially as dangerous as concussion?

I think if a crusher happens, then you need to go off the field for "x" amount of time to get checked by the doctor.....

It would look after the player's health (paramount) and weed out the weasels that claim crusher to milk a penalty (gamesmanship)

Yeah the crusher that was called in relation to Sivo in the first half was absolute garbage. We should've used the captain's challenge!

The heading should have read “bullshit “ crusher tackles,Eels seem like they are coached to reach for the back of their head at every opportunity in a tackle

Both parra players grabbed the back of their heads in the same manner which tells me they were coached to fake injury as soon as contact was made with the back of their skulls

Anyone complaining about a crusher should be made pass a HIA, bet they stop

that's my point.....take Brown's one....as soon as the whistle had blown he was up and gagging to take the next hit up....

Parra are divers, no doubt, but I thought Packer was a bit reckless. It's dangerous

It’s Packers action at the end which is the issue , he probably has been doing the same thing his entire career .. does need to address it as he will again be in trouble as players are told to stay down and grab there neck for a cheap penalty .. Brown last night was a prime example what a cat !

The Eels along with most teams, are coached to keep their heads up in the tackle.
The thing that bothers me is the so called crusher tackled injured players got up and took the quick tap twice.
On the same token. We are trying to hold the players up to slow down the tackle whilst we are also conscience of keeping our feet so that we can get set at marker or back in the line.
If we take off the glasses, it’s a bad tactic and I think we are using these tactics cause we aren’t physically up to the wrestling in the ruck.
I would love for us to just hit and stick and get up and do it again.
No more niggle.

Yeah faked the pain in his neck, got the penalty and bounced straight up. Should have been a penalty to us for milking. There's some real soft "tough guys" nowadays

The Parra club are synonymous with pea-hearts laying down in the tackle for a penalty. Kenny Edwards was the worst. Sivo and Brown have joined him, must be a low feeling to be known as a 'cat'.
This sort of thing is happening far too often in the game these days. Sucks that players get rewarded for it.

That's true but it only works because of dumb dumbs like Packer. That final action of him dropping his body weight on a player is dangerous and stupid.

Packer is guaranteed to miss next week, early plea or not.
