IBF middleweight world champion and proud Wests Tigers member Daniel Geale says he is expecting big things from his team in 2013.

Speaking to weststigers.com.au ahead of his IBF Middleweight Title fight against Anthony Mundine at The Sydney Entertainment Centre on Wednesday, January 30, Geale is eagerly awaiting the start of the NRL premiership.

I'm definitely excited," said Geale. "With the guys they've got on paper it's going to be a very exciting season and I can't wait to get out to the games and watch.

"You've got such flashy play, Benji Marshall is awesome to watch and a lot of the other players are so strong.

"I love watching the Wests Tigers play, I love their style of play.

"It's definitely a great experience and to get out to the games as often as I do and support the guys, it's something that I really enjoy."

Watching Geale spar at The Old Grange Boxing Club Gym on Wednesday were Wests Tigers players Keith Galloway, Matt Groat, Ben Murdoch-Masila and Shaun Spence. Geale has conducted a number of boxing sessions for the Wests Tigers over the past few seasons.

"When I was asked to work in with the Wests Tigers, I jumped at the chance," said Geale.

"At the start, I did a little bit of training with some of the guys and that made me want to support them even more.

"Having the guys here for one of my biggest sparring sessions was awesome."

And for a man who knows all about the mental toughness required to compete at the top level, this praise for the Wests Tigers players' extra efforts wasn't dismissed lightly:

"Their desire behind the play, for me, that's what it's all about," said Geale.

SPECIAL INVITE FROM DANIEL GEALE

Geale has invited Wests Tigers supporters to attend his Smeaton Grange Gymnasium on Friday, January 18, for a public sparring session ahead of his world title showdown with Anthony Mundine.

This will be his only public sparring session before the fight. Wear your Wests Tigers colours and show Daniel you are on his side.

Wow, Matty Groat has lost some beef. Sure to improve his mobility, wonder how this will affect his impact.
