David Furner gone...

Let’s try getting our heads around this?
People continually getting sacked by Powerbrokers because they disagree.
Head Coach having his decisions overruled by Powerbrokers.
Club’s Powerbrokers identify leadership as an essential part of success.
Club Powerbrokers bewildered with club‘s lack of leadership.
After 10 years club’s powerbrokers arrive at the inevitable conclusion..they themselves are the only ones with leadership skills and therefore the solution is simple, they need novices who will follow and a 5 year plan.

They sure are…
Show me one other club with 4 coaches that all played for the club?
a coach that has 1 year experience (in any grade) and 2 assistants that have 1 year experience between them (in any grade)

And no one does care when you’re winning - but 1: we’re not winning and 2: we won’t be winning anytime soon
Bulldogs often have ex-players as coaches.
Dragons have, and maybe will.
The Storm it will be Jason Ryles + Billy Slater + etc when Bellamy retires.
Manly was Des + Toovey for awhile. I think Brad Arthur was external.

Yet honestly, you are right and this isn't a good situation to be in. Whatever Benji and Farah have to offer, they have already offered it. we really need outside experience.

You may have over-read my post mate,

There are no other clubs currently (If ever) where
- All top 4 coaches played together.
- A head coach with 1 year coaching experience (At any Level)
- And 2/3 of the other top 4 coaches have 1 year coaching experience between them.

Morris I can wear - He's at least done some miles...

But Farah, Benji and Heighnington (3/4 Coaches)
have a collective coaching experience of 2 years - Between ALL of them - At any Level.

It's so absurd it's actually unbelievable.

Morris is there in case Benji Fails

I would say you are correct and will have a sign on him reading "Plan C if all else fails activate immediately"I say Plan C because Sheens was Plan A Benji Plan B.I had zero faith in Plan A working but i hope Plan B does work and we don't get to Plan C for many years.
Hopefully the entire board just sit there like stuffed dummies and do and say nothing for 5 years at least especially the loudmouth in the silly hat

Im sure the external review will pick up on this and suggest the people responsible are removed.

It’s totally unprofessional, that’s what it is…this is not park footy out in the bush.

It is straight up madness @batboy

And they want to sell a bright future to us. All based on 16-18 year old who may or may not become anything and even if they do may or may not stay and even, even if they do... give it another decade before they know what it's like to play first grade.

Funny you should mention that....
Was going through some old programs and such the other day (As I often do)

It's amazing how many team lists you'll see from Junior Reps grand finals, rep games and such -
Where not one player went on to be anyone of note....
More than most never even played 1st Grade.

There are times where you'll see a sprinkling of recognisable players....
But there's never a time where you'll see a dozen (Between both sides) that are known names.
Just doesn't happen.

Even when our 20's won the comp, A lot of those kids went on to play top grade
- But I think it was only because they stayed here through our rough times....

The likes of Lovett, Miller, Rowe, Luani probably don't play NRL if we didn't run them out.

That's not WT. Not the West tigers honestly.

Head coach:
Tim Sheens, fails to perform. Given reasonable freedoms.

That other coach that fought with Robbie Farah. Seemed OKay. We needed to give support.

Jason Taylor, yes he may have had decisions over-ruled. The one that stands out is Marty Taupau, he wanted to fire Farah so that he could keep Marty. Then he just wanted to Fire Farah, This was allowed.

Ivan Cleary, Near full run of the entire show. Great coach, who did not make the right signing decisions. Was too free with the money when he should have been tighter. Big 17 lead to a lot of Fringe graders.

Madge, Given reasonable range. Sheens said no to some things. Trained the players hard and we went from 9th to 12-16. Picked BJ Leulia + James Roberts to be our centers. Then argued with BJ (no idea who is right there). Picked Hastings (right decision) and British young gun (wrong decision). ... Got us Paps and Api.

Sheens, given full freedom.

Our coaches have a stack more freedom then most. The problem is not the board's involvement, it's the LACK OF INVOLVEMENT. Truth be told we have improved in that area, when Sheens was on his last contract it was a "oops, oh yea we should re-sign a coach." Then fired the next year.

Now, front of house is right but Football field side is not OK>

I’m sure Crawford and Barnier will give them a tick of approval with a minor token tweak. The board seem to have a lot of other responsibilities. Is it possible that it’s not lack of involvement, but lack of quality involvement which is delivering spoons?
I know I shouldn’t prejudge the review, but from the outside considering the decisions they’re making it looks like they’re about as useful as a glass door on a toilet.

Loved David Furner as a Player. Which we could find a modern day player like him for the team.

Whist Robbie is a WT legend and Great Hooker he never seems to be far away from drama.

From memory didn't Marshall and Farah have a falling out when WT players which divided the team.

Maybe Robbie should stay clear of the team and move into an Admin role.

Let's hope the new Coaching Squad of Marshall, Morris and Heightington can perform.

In hindsight with what Webster has done with the Warriors were WT stupid not to give him a shot as Coach?
