I lived in America for a while.

The asylum process was so ridiculous. So many simply took a plane into the US, marched straight down to the lawyers office and immediately filed asylum papers.

What happens then is that individual can then stay and work in the US until their claim is heard. The issue is the system is gummed up so badly, many people don't hear back for 10+ years.

I personally know someone that has had an application in for 8 years and counting.

If you are rejected, you simply appeal. That queue is even longer. It would be 20 to 25 years before you got a final answer. I guess you would call these people documented and legal. There are millions of these people in the USA.

Now, the illegals or undocumented...A plane trip is, of course, far cheaper and easier than crossing the border illegaly, so anyone sneaking in undocumented has a reason for doing so. Many have previous criminal records, are currently wanted or they are pregnant and looking to get birth rights citizenship for the newborns and they know they will get knocked back at the border.

For probably what is the most balanced view of all and a guy that has covered US politics for a very long time, you would be crazy not to have a look at Bill O'Reilly.

Don't even bother with what used to be the main stream media like CNN, CBS, NBC, ABC, these networks are losing their share of viewers in droves as people turn away because of the biased hatred and misinformation they have been spewing for years now.

The amount of money they are losing makes you wonder how much longer they can survive, yet they continue on with the same rubbish that has been losing them media share for a long time now.

Bill O'Reillys segment on the once , who is a convicted Rapist and Felon deranged Andrew Cuomos show is pretty funny to watch both spectrums at it with respect for each other.

It is surprising and refreshing to see Cuomos evolution from CNN propaganda mouth piece to a more rational left of centre position. Even calling out the hypocrisy when he was on the floor at the DNC convention, the hypocrisy of the oligarchy that controls the dem party in their million dollar boxes as they pretend to be the party of the people. That video of him roasting the Democrat party is brilliant.

Getting involved with more independent media and podcasts away from the legacy media bubble he was in for decades did him wonders and opened his eyes to the lies he was peddling. His absolute ass grubbing on the PBD podcast against Dave Smith sure helped to kick his ass into reality.
