TIGERS AND MAGPIES IN DOUBLE HEADER

Balmain Ryde Eastwood Tigers and the Western Suburbs Magpies will feature in a heritage showdown at Henson Park to kick start the 2010 NSW Cup season on Saturday, March 13.

The double header heritage matches will kick off at 3pm with the North Sydney Bears taking on the Western Suburbs Magpies followed by the showdown between the Balmain Ryde-Eastwood Tigers and the Newtown Jets at 5pm.

This will allow Wests Tigers supporters the chance to then head out to the Sydney Football Stadium two days later for the opening round clash at home against Manly Sea Eagles on Monday, March 15, from 7pm.

The countdown is on peeps. One of the best ways to start your footy season fix is only a few more sleeps away.
Get excited with a **Wests** Magpies / Balmain Ryde-Eastwood **Tigers** double!!
Come on down to Henson dust bowl and grab yourself a Garlo's pie and wash it down with a KB from the bar. Sit your backside on the hill or dodge a few splinters on the benches. Either way, a fantastic day can be had hurling obscenities at the referees and local latte sipping Jets supporters.
To top it off you can witness a new and improved Balmain Ryde-Eastwood Tigers playing their first competition match since their ugly defeat in the 2009 grand final. Coach Paul Fletcher has bolstered his squad with some up and coming flash talents such as Sam Huihahau, Toby Marshall, Arana Taumata, Darren Nicholls to name a few. Throw in the mix a classy Blake Lazarus who returns from a long lay off and you have a team who will really give the State Cup a shake once again.
If that isn't enough to whet your appetite, get down there a bit earlier and watch the pre-match entertainment!! Wests Magpies vs Norths Bears.
Bring the kids, bring the dog, bring a picnic blanket and bump uglies during half time, hell...even bring some binoculars if you want to watch some footy, just be sure to get their early as in recent times Henson has pulled capacity crowds of 9,000+.

Be there or be [![](http://img705.imageshack.us/img705/711/sb1h.th.jpg)](http://img705.imageshack.us/i/sb1h.jpg/)

I'LL BE THERE!!!

Was going to go CT, but it looks like I will be having a party to end all parties in Sunny Cabarita…oh wait , I will just transfer the party to Henson party, so LOte can get to know all the playes from our 2 feeder clubs, and we can wash all the WT catering food down with a cold Gold KB

Sounds like a great day of footy.

Tough games for both our teams though. The Jets are always tough to beat at Henson and the Bears will have a lot of Souths players to call upon.

Will be interested to see the make up of the teams that take the field on the day….. depends on who Commander Sheens selects I guess.

At a guess, I'd say expect maybe a crowd of 8,972 !!

Yes….... just think If you had of turned up instead of working....It would have been 8973......

As it turned out both Wests and Balmain won be it by 1 point each. But a win is a win.So both are on the ladder for 2010.The webcast from NSW League was great to keep in contact with both games for out of towners.

:wahoo:
