i posted on another thread, given the amount of games he missed, im surprised he won it, thought benji would get it.

Im assuming Ink your joking when you say Lui would ahve won the award, he was terrible mid year. Everyone was calling for his head (harshly, but still, he was a mile away from our best)

So do I… I value the guy who makes his tackles; makes that extra effort to pull himself off the deck to plug a whole in defence; will put his hand up to take an extra hit-up in the set when the boys are busted; is Mr Reliable and works hard on minimising his errors; leads from the front and plays for the full 80 minutes...

Gareth is the Number One!!!

Benji was our best performer this year by far in my opinion, in fact I probably wouldn't have considered Ellis to have been our second best this year but congratulations to him all the same.

I agree with Ellis getting the award. When he came back from injury the whole side lifted around him and we started winning again. The sides momentum corresponded with getting Gareth back. Without him we would have been lucky to make the eight, in my opinion.

Benji missed out on the Dally M by a bees appendage but doesn't get his own clubs player of the year. A bit strange imo.

It doesnt say the award is for the best performer. Its simply player of the year. Like previously mentioned the players value different things than the fans do. If they have decided that Ellis was the best player this year than im happy to go with that

Mate if Benj had of suffered the injury that Lawry did this year we would have got the spoon….his impact was that great. He single handedly won us a number of games. He also had some mediocre games were he still exploded at the death and got us home. Gareth was solid but not our best for mine ...in fact I thought Gall, Heighno and Aysh were all better as well.

I agree with all of that, except the spoon.

that said, ellis is a champion, but IMO not our best for the year.
