WESTS Tigers second-rower Gareth Ellis could be sidelined for up to three months with a fractured left foot.

Ellis suffered the injury during the first half in the loss to South Sydney at Allianz Stadium on Sunday.

He underwent scans on Monday morning and it is expected that he will miss between eight and 12 weeks.

Ellis will see a specialist on Tuesday with the possibility of undergoing surgery.

Meanwhile, prop Keith Galloway could be a surprise starter for Wests Tigers against Brisbane at Allianz Stadium this Friday night.

Galloway has worked hard in rehabilitation on his injured left foot.

He will undergo fitness tests to determine his availability

Wests Tigers' hopes of turning around a miserable start to the season suffered a major body blow on Monday when influential forward Gareth Ellis was ruled out for up to three months with a broken foot.

Ellis limped from the field during the first half of his side's golden-point loss to the Rabbitohs on Sunday and left Allianz Stadium in a protective boot.

Scans later revealed a fracture and the Englishman will visit a surgeon on Tuesday to discuss the possibility of surgery.

Ellis will miss at least eight weeks and could be out for as long as 12.

It's a severe setback to the Tigers' hopes of turning around a 1-4 start to their campaign, although they may get representative prop Keith Galloway back for Friday night's crucial encounter with Brisbane at Allianz Stadium.

Skipper Robbie Farah also returns from a two-match suspension.

We get WAAAAY more than our fair share of injuries-not sure it is just a coincedence or not. I can't remember the last time Melbourne has had Smith or his maggot mate Slater sitting on the sideline with injury

Jesus bloody hell….didnt think it would be that bad....bad luck Gaz!!
Back in time for our big roll home.

Slater shattered a collarbone and popped his shoulder over the offseason in the 4 nations….they seem to recover though as if its a papercut

Hope Ellis' foot recovers well and quickly. What will be the forwards look like?

Woods
Farah
Galloway (if plays)
Blair
Bell
Heighno

BMM, Groat, Fulton

If Sauce doesn't play then Bell back to prop and probably Fulton or Moors to second row?? any other ideas?? is there someone in BRET, there are a couple of real goers in the U20s but a bit early for them.

Don't remember the boot to Skandalis' face a few years back?….Don't remember the countless times he has led with his boots into opposition players attempting to score tries, resulting in kicks to the head and knees in the back? Best go and watch a few replays of games past i'd suggest.
Big deal, he looked after Wolfman when he hurt his neck-any other player would of done that.

This is why he is a maggot.

Bit harsh. I'm sure you would love to see him as our no1.

I would have to be an idiot not to. He is a brilliant player but in my opinion he is a cat-watch him squirm and lash out like a sheila when someone has a go at him physically
