This week's RLW magazine reports that Gareth Ellis will undergo surgery on his groin at seasons end and has carried the injury all season.

The former Wakefield and Leeds second rower, now in his third season with Wests Tigers, has been told he may need surgery to correct an on-going groin injury.

"Gareth is one tough man and few people realise what he has overcome this year," Wests Tigers coach Tim Sheens told Australia's Rugby League Week magazine.

Sheens, who is also Australia's national coach, added: "If he was born here, he would be playing for New South Wales and Australia."

What a player… who would have ever thought he's been playing with a groin injury all year? Imagine how good he would be going if he didn't have it. One of the best players the Tigers have ever bought.

wow you wouldn't be able to tell that he is playing injured.
I assume that ellis will be amongst a list of players from the tiges needing some sort of medical attention, or much needed rest and recovery.

Farah will most likely need surgery for his groin
and tiquiri and lawrence could both use the rest and a bit of luck over the off season.

guess that means no four nations for him then

yeah you'd think he'd wait until after that

but wow, all year with a groin injury? Imagine how well he would be going without the injury???

here…here...and a top bloke as well!!!

Going great guns for someone carrying an injury.

Here's hoping no ill will strikes him before the end of the season.

What a great difference he made to the side when he returned from injury. We need all our boys on deck to be at our best but he is one we REALLY need.

Go the Tiges!

This is another reason why I am reluctant to bag any 1st grade player for their apparent effort on the field. We simply don't know what they are putting their body through to get out there on the field at any given time. I take my hat off to anyone who steps out there.
