ELLIS TO STAY AT WESTS TIGERS UNTIL END OF 2013

Hard hitting Englishman Gareth Ellis has today re-signed with the Wests Tigers for a further two seasons.

Rated the world’s best second-rower, Ellis is in his second season of a three year stint with the Wests Tigers but has agreed to further extend his deal which keeps him at the club until the end of the 2013 season.

Ellis has played 30 games for Wests Tigers and was named the club’s player of the year in 2009 in his first season in the NRL.
The announcement was made this morning at the Trend Micro Office in Macquarie Park. Trend Micro is the official back of shorts sponsor of the Wests Tigers.

“Gareth had an immediate and dramatic impact on the NRL last year,’’ said Wests Tigers CEO Stephen Humphreys.

“His efforts in 2009 saw him win the Wests Tigers Player of the Year award, earn selection in the English side for the Four Nations tournament, and the inaugural NRL All Stars side.

“Gareth is one of our most popular and professional players. He possesses a great work ethic and is a real leader both on and off the field.

“He and his partner Rachael, along with their young son Isaac, have become integral members of the Tigers family and we are thrilled with their decision to commit to us for this extended period.”

Now we wait for Lawrence to resign!

I too hope that Lawry is next, but on Gaz,I said all along even when he was playing for Leeds,he will star out here given time to settle, and he has, great to see him stick around.

Thank God he's staying. Now we have to sew up Lawerence and Fifita then we'll have something special with our NYC team coming through. The future at this club looks sensational!

Well done TIGERS :sign:
& well done ELLIS
Now lets make the finals so he dosen't become disillusioned with the tigers & regret his decision
:wahoo:

Very happy about this. Ellis is a very important signing for us. I wasn't sure about him in the beginning but he has definately become one of my favourite players.

this is the one signature we really really needed - highest priority - looks like gareth and rachel like the sun. If anyone has seen their home they would understand - right on the beach.

Thank christ for that, smart move by the Tigers.

I'm sure they'll back it up with another clanger though, probably announce a $300,000-a-year 3 year deal for Fitzy next.
