Doing paper work and rocking out to some great tunes has prompted me to pose the question….what is your favourite album? Not talking about the one you think is the best, moreso which one do you infrequently listen to year after year, the one that soon as it starts you are transported back in time to where ever you were when you first heard it? You remember smells, feelings, tastes, people, places etc...
For me it was a record released in 1992 that was an intensely dark album full of songs that I instantly related to. It was a dark period of my life where I had blown my knee out 2 years previous, pretty much ending any chance at a footy career which found me as an aimless 18 year old joining the armed forces. I hated the world and wanted everyone to know it. I listened to this record over and over and know every lyric, riff, bass line and drum beat backwards. This album convinced me to learn the guitar and I just love it. As the years have gone by I still relate to the lyrics but with a different perspective.
The album is Alice In Chains - DIRT.
Would love to hear other peoples and their reasons.
