Your right , my 8 year old is die hard tigers we’ve been going to games for 3 years and he’s never seen them win live .
Last week was schools harmony day were they wear orange so I got out his tigers away jersey and orange hat.
In the morning he looked at me and said DAD I can’t wear it . I’m going to get teased again how bad we are and I’ve had enough !!

I thought imagine if these kids could deliver these messages in the Tigers change rooms before the game ?

You could teach your son to embrace the comedy that is our team. He doesn't have to wear it for pride. It can be a statement piece. He could also beat up those other kids making fun of him.

That’s a sad story mate, but at the same time, it’s character building. My son’s teacher told me, there’s something wrong with him, he wants to win all the time. I told her, if you have a problem with that then blame me.

I feel for your young bloke, I was a Magpie during the 80’s when we came last 2 years out of 3 and 2nd last the other.
But I don’t reckon LB would finally know what to do on the last tackle, and AD would finally use a shoulder in defence if a young bloke gave them a speech in the sheds before the game? Douhie might have a cry coz he’s a cryer, but otherwise those two have peaked.

Brooks has been like a drug, always chasing the initial high of that first game but never getting back there ever again.
AD has never even been good enough to hold a position, he thinks he’s a 5/8, but he has been a worse at 5/8 than when he played FB.

It sucks that a kid is worried about being bullied for wearing our colours.

That's terrible, all you can do is try to keep encouraging him that it will get better at some point. He still supports them after disappointment time after time, your little one has more heart than 3/4 of the posers who put our jersey on.

Just blow that story up on A3 paper and put it in each locker before training and their game.
Bring the young guy to talk them about what it means to the supporters.
Make ‘em feel piss weak, coz that’s what they are. Bunch of imposters pretending to be first graders.

Yeah there’s talk in my family about changing teams as a family, and the Dolphins are on the shortlist.
So that is a complete family team change, and the younger ones are pushing for it as they are sick of loosing, but above all else they are sick of getting hacked on by their mates every week. Sick of getting laughed at, or dismissed as “you got no idea talking about footy coz you go for the Tigers”.
Talking to my young cuz, he is 16ish, his two older sisters who both played for and won a GF with Dragons women’s u18, have all grown up supporting the Tigers coz it’s the Family team, they all avoid telling people who they go for and only continue to support the Tigers coz the older generation push the family loyalty thing.

Can you blame the kid. I no longer wear my tiger's jersey in public either it's embarrassing. When they start showing they're playing for the jersey and coach I'll wear it again.

Just last week one uncle was sooking coz I have started watching the games delayed on Kayo, (so I can fast forward the game or replay stuff when I need to), and he has no-one to text or talk to while the game is on coz his kids will not sit and watch the game with him anymore either.
Yes it’s a sad state for the Tigers when they are loosing die-hard supporters that they don’t have to do anything to get their support, it’s hereditary support and costs the club nothing to gain their life long loyalty.
I can see this hereditary support eroding within my own family, and am hearing the same from others.
This is also eroding the club’s standing within the game.
