Financial compensation

Does anyone on this forum know how much the Weststigers are paid to play some games at the SFS?

Seems to me that it should be substantial as we are risking nearly a sure 2 points everytime we play away from our traditional home grounds, Leichhardt and Campo.

firstly this week is an away game.

And it is a lot, we wouldn't be financially viable if we played all are games at our traditional home grounds

Don't quote me on this, but I seem to recall about $100k per game being thrown around and that ANZzzzz were offering only $80,000 per game
The Rooster semi was a much higher figure

again, this is second-hand info from a while back so it could be completely wrong. IIRC we were getting $100k per game at ANZ back in 05/06 so one could argue that the figure should therefor being higher now.

That was the figure I had heard as well Kul. How do the catering dollars go though?? That is what I have always wondered about . Surely if we don't make any dollars for food beverages at Stadium etc that we would make that much again quite easily at our own home grounds ??

Yeh it was around $100k back at Telstra so should be thereabouts or more now

Hard to put a monetary figure on it…we can offer high rolling sponsors more there than we can at CS LO....I guess it plays its part in securing these big knobs

Good ground ...just a prick to get to, into and out of

Plus having it at the SFS means more fans get to go as our crowds are often above the 20k that can fit in Campbelltown and Leichardt - I personally look forward to the day when all our games are at the SFS because our crowds are too big to fit in either Leichardt or Campbelltown

Give me an example of ONE game when the new Campbelltown Stadium had been at/above full capacity????

And then also tell me the average crowd!!!

You get 20K+/- at those venues because people love them - the SFS does not imbue a similar passion & crowds drop off aside from big games!!!

More than Homebush - and that is why we moved!!!

More than we get from the Leagues Clubs ….that's for sure

I know at ANZ we would get 50% of gate takings if the crowd was above a certain level (I think it was 16k, don't quote me on it). Do we have a similar stipulation in our deal with the SFS?

Not sure, but there was talk of a bonus for the semi wasn't there?

So far nobody seems to know for sure. Maybe someone a the football club can tell us. Surely it is not a secret.

As I said, it had better be good to risk a certain 2 points at out home grounds.

There is no such thing as "a certain 2 points" at our "home" grounds.

Our record at the SFS is better than our Campbelltown results. We've had a good run at Leichhardt recently - winning our last 6 - i recall reading somewhere (but could be wrong) that you have to go back to Balmain in '89 for a longer streak at Leichhardt.

2010: SFS - won 2/3 home games, Campbo - 3/4, Leichhardt - 4/4
Overall: SFS - 23games - 12 wins, 11 losses - but this includes Roosters home games as well. I think we have played 10 home games their with 6 wins and 4 losses (4 in 2010, counting the semi, 5 in 2009, and the season opener in 2008).
Leichhardt - 48 - 30 wins/16 losses and 1 draw
Campbo - 47 - 20 wins/27 losses and 1 draw.

On these figures, you'd ditch Campbelltown first!!!

I just accept the fact that we have 3 home grounds and play a 'traditional' one at the SCG each year for good measure.

You have confused me - does Campbelltown pull crowds or not?

Roosters last year!!!!!!

If we played the teams we play at SFS, we might push that boundary more often.

You've got to be kidding?!?!? No games at Leichhardt or Campbelltown? I for one hope that day NEVER comes. If you're worried about getting into the games buy a membership!!
