Finishing 8th is overachieving

We have about 3/4 of our squad that should improve considerably this year. Not many clubs can say that. Top 8 would be a pass mark if we get a decent run with injuries.

Stryker there's only so much optimism you can have before you become an Eels fan.

Are you an Eels fan now?

Joke flew over your head? You know the one where Eels fans talk their team up to no end, when everyone else knows they're gonna be awful, then go out and play like sh*t. That's where I was getting. No matter how much you try to fool yourself this team is bad. My gauge? Last year's pitiful performances.

Some seem to be confusing the point. Just because you have over acheived doesen't mean you have had a good year in the comp overall. Overachieve reflects how people expect you to go v's how you go. Given that everyone outside of Wests Tigers (and WT fans) expects the club to finish in the bottom 3 then anything 13th or above would be over achievement.

Now would I be happy with 13th no. Would the club NO but it would be an overachievement none the less

I reckon the tigers are going to surprise a lot of people this year including the supporters. I am predicting coming 6th,

We need to make, or at least compete seriously for, the eight this season. Anything less will be a big disappointment, and I wouldn't expect JT to keep his job.

10th or Better will be a positive year for our fledgling team. Something to build on…

All I ask is be no blowouts. Defence is the key for us in light of the fact that wehave the makings of a good attacking side when all are fit.
