Fulton

this is sure to ruffle a few feathers, but we looked better without him tonight. he is too small to be playing in the backrow. sure he has great work rate, but so does bell. his tackles were more effective (because of his size).

love him as a player and a bloke, but like lawrence, im just not sure anymore.

Tonight was more to do with attitude and a reshuffle of the side which helped balance, not the fact Fulton was missing.

We played well despite him not being there, not because.

We were better balanced in the forwards are more aggressive because we didn't have Fulton and Anasta in their. He is a pretty good all round footballer FUlton, skillful, tough and works hard. However the way the game is played, he just isint quite good enough in the halves, and not quite strong enough in the forwards. He will always play with heart and pride however we looked more balanced tonight. I wouldn't be handing him a starting spot back next week.

Fulton is a better defender and more skillful then Bell by a good margin. Bell might have more impact hitting the line though because of his size, although he rarely uses it.

We still would have gone as well, if not better if we had Fulton/Blair/Thompson in the backrow tonight.

pretty much sums up my thoughts.
he's the sort of guy who would be good to come on 25 minute mark when players tire a bit. or the back end of the 2nd half.
its just a shame its not a 6 man interchange, thats when he'd really shine.

disagree re defence.
bell is bigger and wraps up guys much easier without them making an offload. he is a better and stronger wrestler.

No worries, have to agree to disagree I guess.

I agree I like fultz but I don't think we missed him like I thought we would

Mate agree completely re Fulton. We looked more aggressive and better without him.

Like others here, I am a fan of Fulton. I really enjoyed watching how the forwards played last night, it wasn't until I read this post that I realized Fulton didn't play, I suppose that says something

I'm not sure he is a better defender than Bell. Bell consistently makes crucial tackles.

I really like Fulton and I wouldn't boot him from the team yet but Bell offers a lot to our side especially defensively.

Agree. The way the game is being played these days, your backrowers are all 100kg+ and have fairly decent pace. I can see the likes of Fulton being squeezed out in a few years. Having said that, we need the extra grunt in the backrow and I'd be looking at Liam as an interchange when he returns from injury.

Im not a fan of Fulton, and while I was happy to see us defend well, one game doesnt make a season…

Lets wait and see...

I think Fulton gives us a better overall balance.

The move of Anasta to half and Bodene in the side was massive last night.

I also think Potter has seen exactly how effective our players can be who came off the bench last night.

Woods also played big minutes last night which we cannot ask of him week in week out without burning him out and Bell coming on to the paddock as a replacement lock gives us enough starch to spell Woodsy for a decent period

Watto its illegal to hunt giraffe'

Fulton still ahead of Ava and Akaoula, so there is a spot for him. We need his defence and utility value for in-game injuries.

We clearly tired the last 10-15 minutes last night and as said before Woods played big minutes, we can't be all aggression and size.

Start Bodene and bring Fulton off the bench.

I would bring Fulton off the bench, he would of been very handy last night when some of the big blokes were starting to tire. Bodene had a very good game last night & deserves a starting spot this week against the Drag Queens, he gives us a bit of size & Mongrel in our pack.

Impact, offense, defense aside, Fulton is still one of better options all round. Did we miss him last night? No. But that's not a criticism of him. Fulton could've aided us last night in fact. If last night proved one thing, there's not one second rower at the club assured his spot. The competition is well and truly on,

Fulton's versatility means we can play 4 genuine forwards off the bench. He can cover injuries to backs and Farah, eliminating the dreaded 'just in case' selections. (Humble, Meaney etc)

Fulton is tailor-made for the bench. WT just hasn't had the cattle to play him there much, unfortunately.

100%. Fulton is an absolute workhorse! He's the best one-on-one tackler in our team.
