Absolutely right. You couldnt show up for your part time job that late without a decent excuse. Why should a "professional athlete" be any different?

What he showed up late to watch the team from the sideline?? Was he there for the NRL game? I assume so, and so who cares about whether he watched NSW Cup or not. Maybe he even had a legitimate excuse.

Pointless. Discussion over.

He was playing in the NSW cup game. He passed an early fitness test with dene and was named on the bench. So the fact he was 35 minutes late (if true) proves a big point….
At the beginning of the year the boys talked about setting higher standards at the club. Robbie mentioned fines for players who were late to training and suggested that they had been too casual with issues such as this in the past few years. It's good to see them stick to their guns on this issue...
No doubt the club sought an explanation from James before standing him down. Obviously his excuse was not good enough...

I heard last night while watching the NSW Cup game that our James has been also very slack in his rehabilitation and has missed 4 physiotherapy sessions.
Hoping he can his head back in the game. ….would have been great for him to come back to Leichhardt with a NSW Cup game under his belt

No big deal, who hasn't been late for a job on occasion. I could understand disciplinary action if he was photographed at a public urinal drinking his own pee… But, being late once is pretty insignificant.

Its clear some people have no idea what being a part of a team is, and how ones actions such as this can affect a whole unit

If this is in fact correct that he has not been doing his rehab properly and decided not to turn for his game in Premier League well see you later mate! The boys club ended with Sheens… I was under the impression that the culture of the club had change, last night we all witnessed a group of players with there backs against the wall step up for one another and achieved victory.. Mr Gavet if you don't want to buy into this culture please go elsewhere .....no great lose with that attitude.

Agree wholeheartedly, he's supposed to be a professional, and there are always consequences when players miss training/turn up to games late.

Potter needs to come down hard on Gavet, particularly if he hasn't been professional during rehab. He is an important part of our team and he needed to play to be ready for next week.

Perhaps a stint with the Ron Massie Cup side as part of his rehab would give him a good perspective of the Bigger picture.

It could be a cultural thing.
Wasn't he involved with gangs in the past in New Zealand -
the media scrutiny and exposure - could it be this
could it be his personal life - woman problems
i mean he has the whole world at his feet
His potential is herculean and he is a crucial member of the squad
I hope this gets sorted asap for all our sakes.
