George Rose

Heard Rose on the radio today stating that this was his last year at Manly. He did not say where he was playing or if that had been decided.

Have Weststigers shown any interest?

We probably have enough props plus he is on the wrong side of 30.

well he's 30 right now. unless you want him to be 36+… not sure what you mean?

he'd be good for depth at the right price. if brown cements a permanent spot in the team- rose would be a like to like replacement if brown gets injured.

DCE hand fed him a try last weekend and he couldn't hold onto thanks to his belly!! Toovey dragged his a**e straight to the bench for stuffing up such a gimme try!
Why would the Tigers want to recruit another useless forward! No doubt there's better out there than him!!!

To be fair the pass was at his hip…a gimmee I dont think so.

I think for a big bloke he's luck and does it relatively easy in a team whos forward go forward more often than not

He said the coach and training staff dont care what he looks like as long as his onfield efforts are up to it.

I wonder how he'd fare in a team who struggles a bit in the go forward

He comes off the bench and just keeps their momentum going, would be different for us imo

Ok ill level with you that it was at the hip and not so much a gimme but watching the replay he did try and pull the ball around to be underneath him to score the try but his belly did inhibit this motion and he lost the ball!

I'm not dissing his size; to play at this level with his physique is an inspiration to others that to play NRL you don't have to be a stereotypical SBW perfect specimen! I give credit where its due! What I'm saying is that in that instance for that try his belly got in the way!

As for the Tigers finding better, what I'm saying is yes we could probably pick him up cheap but why when we could buy a better, younger recruit that's not just going to be around for the next 2 years but for the next 4-6 so he can not only grow as a player but help to build the clubs foundations for the future with the likes of Brooks, Sue, Moses, Brown & Lovett as Mayer is trying to establish!

We already have young, but youth isn't going to keep you goning forward in the last 10 minutes of each half or when the opposing team has the upper hand.

I would like more experience up front but I don't believe i will ever be seeing Rose wearing the black, white and gold!

Woodsy, Galloway, Blair and BMM are all pretty experienced/had a few years in the top grade, don't want a useless front row to stop Ava, Buchanan or sue.

Yeh fair enough, from memory you may have a point.

Put his gut down for a try saver for melb

Do you think BMM would have caught it? Pass was well behind him, not that easy for a any prop.

I think we could have used him earlier this year, but that time has passed.

Can't believe anyone is interested in him.

Almost all our props are better than him and we already have a surplus.

Woods
Galloway
Blair
Ava
Buchanan
Tapau
Brown
Groat
BMM at a pinch

Agree, there isn't much difference in today's game between most 13s and 8 or 10s,
Sue bmm almost play like front rowers when in 13 anyways! We have the depth.

And am pretty sure groat won't be resigned!
