Personally i think if Gidley gets picked for origin we are stuffed. worst origin selection ever. we have all seen robbie can play 80mins and get players player for it so who will he be backing up for. would much rather have an extra forward on the bench like last year !

An in form and fit Gidley is a decent utility selection. He covers pretty much every position from 1-9 and leaves the other 3 bench spots to be taken up with massive forwards.

Either that or you need someone like a Luke Lewis or hooker/backrower there, going into Origin without a contingency of some sort is suicide.

Has been the luckiest player re: NSW selection over the last 6 years..is and always has been a very average footballer…must have some dirt on the NSW selection panel

I can understand Gidley being selected ahead of Robbie for the Anzac test and i'm fine with it. Gidley can cover 1,6,7 and 9 adequately. Robbie can cover 9 and maybe 7\. Makes perfect sense really.

Theres no need to pick Rob for the test when Smith has the hooking role sewn up. He'll sit on the bench for 70 minutes and if Sheens is really dirty he wont get on at all. If they want a true utility Gidley is the man otherwise 4 forwards….

No way, we have gone through way more players then we ever should have in the past 7 years. We barely lost the last 2 series, we finally have something being built year after year.

Remember Bird at 5-8th in Origin was the catalyst for suspension of MoTM betting? The same game everyone was calling him the next Wally Lewis?
