Golden Slipper

I'll be backing karuta queen in the slipper, maluckyday in the BMW and do ra mi in the vinery stud stakes. Wish I was going will just have to take control of the lounge room and watch on skyracing!

Should get a good price about Karuta Queen anyhow see someone had $3k on her at $17 and price has shortened to $15, interesting you can see do ra mi beating the odds on favourite in brazilian pulse in the vinery stud stakes, just hope that the track remains good and we dont get too much rain. I think that its $40 to get into Rosehill on saturday as well and $6 a Schooner so they dont really encourage you to go, do they???

I went to the slipper when I moved to Sydney in 2003 then every year till miss Finland won in 06, moved to Canberra and not been since but I'm sure even then it was 40$ to get in n about 5$ a stubbie. Makes for an expensive day if your going for a punt to instead of a social outing. It cost 50$ I think to get into the black opal or cup day here.

Which one??? Salade apparently its wearing blinkers for the 1st time as well, he has a filly and the 1st emergency, interesting to seet that Do You Think is down to run in the 1st race as well but with Hugh Bowman down to ride, in the Slipper the rider is Steven Arnold

I wouldn't say all the roughies - Sepoy and More Joyous were pretty short! But yeah there were a few upsets weren't there? And a few disappointing efforts. Gai's colt looked pretty good but Descerado in the same colours was a bit disappointing. It will be interesting to see if Waterhouse keeps going with him this campaign.

The bookies got a hat load, hopefully we can get some back on the weekend which would be good. Fast Clip is owned in partnership with Kate Waterhouse as well, i thought that he would be suspect at the distance, but seemed to run it out ok, he will be running in the Frank Packer Plate, and they wont be paying up for the Derby. They are aiming him for the Toorak handicap run at Caulfield in the spring, thats whats been bantied around. I thought that Retrieve was quite disappointing considering some of the big boys come into play for him, one bet was taken for $60k on him and he didnt even manage to run a place as well. Considering the outsiders filled the minors it was quite a disappointing effort, usually when they back up with a week of there run they tend to run alot better than what he did on saturday.
