Wests Tigers will host premiers St George-Illawarra Dragons at the historic Sydney Cricket Ground next year after today releasing its allocation of home match venues for 2011.

Campbelltown Sports Stadium and Leichhardt Oval will again enjoy four matches each while the Sydney Football Stadium (SFS) will play host to three Wests Tigers home games.

The first home game will be against the Warriors in round two at Leichhardt Oval.

The SCG match against the Dragons will be staged in round 22 and will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the famous 1961 Grand Final between Western Suburbs Magpies and St George.

Wests Tigers will welcome the Brisbane Broncos to the SFS over the Easter weekend in April. The match promises to be one of the most highly anticipated contests of the season.

The annual Heritage Round clash against South Sydney will next year be held at the SFS, which will also host another blockbuster match against the Parramatta Eels.

The ‘Battle of the West’ will continue when the Panthers make the journey to Campbelltown in Round 11.

Campbelltown Sports Stadium will also host a mouth watering contest against the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs in Round 16.

Leichhardt Oval will also host the Sydney Roosters and Melbourne Storm in what promises to be two blockbusters at the traditional ground.

Wests Tigers CEO Stephen Humphreys believes the club has achieved a very fair split in terms of game allocations.

“It’s great to see Campbelltown and Leichhardt have four matches once again and there are some exciting clashes at those grounds,’’ Humphreys said.

“I’m really looking forward to celebrating our historical rivalry against the Dragons at the SCG. This is such an important part of our history and it will be an exciting time for the club.

“All in all, it promises to be yet another exhilarating year so we encourage supporters who are not Members to cross ‘the line that divides’ and help play an important role at Wests Tigers.”

Wests Tigers open their 2011 campaign against Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs at ANZ Stadium on the weekend of March 11-14.

Some nice changes there…..Knights and roosters at LO, been a while.
Dogs at Cambo.....bad memories 04 i think , knock on by Utai in goal missed by touchies.

Fair enough I guess.

Really pretty happy with that.

Good that the SFS clash is against the Dragons as well IMO. Celebrate a different rivalry at the old ground.

The allocations seem to get a bit better each year

all things considered, the club has done well here.
Cambo has done very well this year.
Good to see new teams playing at LO too

Bulldogs @ Cambo = AAAAA+++++++++

nice work WT

Hmmm… Why would they put Brisbane at the SFS? Is this club starting to realise how to earn bigger gates? I would still prefer to play Brisbane at Campbelltown where it all started and in front of a more hostile crowd.

We would still get a big gate if we moved Newcastle to the SFS, move Brisbane to CO and put the Titans at Leichhardt so Robbie can show us his famous scrum move???

Good allocation though. I should get down for plenty of games next year!

im surprised the leumeah rectangle is hosting the game against the dogs instead of the brisbane game

also good to see we are playing st.george illawarra at the scg instead of the souff sydney scum

finally the tigers dont play rabbitohscum at the scg. the dragons match at the scg will be special and brings back memories of the late 60's early 70's clashes. like the rest of the home /away fixtures too. can't wait for 2011 !!

I actually agree with Brisbane at SCG because it should get plenty of Tigers in due to a big ground.

Good stuff from the club. Can't wait for 2011.

Brisbane at the SFS will also get alot of Brisbane Fans travelling south. Flights and Accom in the City is an easy solution, whereas less would travel if it was at the Campbelltown swamp…

Its a smart choice if we want to get good crowd numbers...

And alternately theres a lot of Dogs fans around the fairfield liverpool area out to Cambo way too

Brisbane game is on the easter/anzac day long weekend. with saints v roosters always being the anzac day game (easter monday this year) we'll more than likely be the Friday night game, possibly Sunday arvo. It'll be a ratings hit for 9, which helps the league when renegotiating the broadcast rights, which helps all clubs in the end.

Can't wait to play the Chooks at LO, and the Dogs at Campbo.

We should get some great crowds to other SFS/SCG games, and some of the LO/Campbo games.

Can't wait.

im really looking forward to the games against penriff and dogs at c'town
