How come Leichhardt couldn't get that much? Inner West Council ?

I'm all for more games to be played at a revamped Campbelltown Stadium, however Leichhardt deserves an upgrade more than Henson. Yes I know they did a bit to the ground a few years back but it's still sadly lacking in several areas.

Campbelltown is getting a $30m spend but that includes it's Centre of Excellence. Leichhardt got no where near that last time.

Article from last June says that LO got approval for a $40 million upgrade. 20 million from the Albo government and 10 million each from the Inner West Council and the NSW state government. Although I’ve heard nothing about it since.

Though I was a Magpie fan back in the day I loved going to Henson when Western Suburbs played the Jets there.
I even went a couple of times when Tommy & O'Grady were playing for them. I couldn't have done the same at Brookvale with Boyd, Brown & Dorahy though 😂😂🤣

After I got seperated then divorced from my now deceased ex wife back in 2000, I was living above a pub in Tempe.
l got a casual position doing garbage, recycle or lane truck runs at Marrickville Council. I occasionally did the run that took in Henson Park & the surrounding era.
Lovely around there, love the HP Hotel, the last drop off of the day on that run 🍺😉

One of Albos favourite hang outs which , I assume, is how they got the funding.
Also the Henson Park Hotel just around the corner, and used to be a good spot for a coldie. But I haven’t been there for years.
