I have deleted my WhatsApp account.

WhatsApp is forcing users to share their personal data with Facebook.

I am now using Signal, a smaller encrypted message app.

Signal was created by the original owners of WhatsApp after they realised how Facebook was going to use their product.

I hope FB didn’t pay any goodwill?

No idea what the deal entailed with Facebook. I just know that Facebook are trying to extend their reach and capture data about you from all their acquisitions, forming a giant social media monopoly. This is not a good thing.

I’m more than happy to use a more private messaging system.

What everyone else does is up to each individual.
