I remember it being awesome...

Im not a huge Star Wars fan - seen the original maybe once in the past 30 years...
I have always held a fondness though for the story and remember it being a great adventure as a child.
Talked my kids into watching it a few months back on a rainy day when they were carrying on about nothing to do etc...we all sat down and watched it together.
They were bored shitless. Both left the loungeroom at about the hour mark with me telling them "it gets better, youll miss out". I made it to the end and turned it off really confused.
Its a terrible movie, with some decent effects. The direction is awful and the acting is abysmal. The set pieces arent what I remember either. The light sabers look silly and incredibly fake. The fighter attack scene at the end is genuine B movie stuff.

I remember Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi being good but Im afraid to confirm that now...I think I may end up hating them as well lol.
Lol... Exactly what I mean. They're either great or you're dumbfounded at how bad it was! 🤣

But it's natural progression - particularly with effects and its hard to go back to when that was considered mind blowingly realistic.

Fwiw, when I was kid (5 in 1977) I loved the first one and return of the Jedi. Thought the Empire Strikes Back was so boring.

But I have them on blu ray and I actually encourage you (maybe don't torture the poor kids again though! 🤣) to watch Empire Strikes Back; watched it a while ago and think it is light years ahead of the others.

See what I did there 😜

You bring back memories TS... great film..

I was in rebel sport yesterday and a woman with two young kids was next to me. She called her daughter to her: "Harper".

I turned and asked her and she was named after Harper Lee. She says her son's name is Hunter!

Laughed and told her to keep him away from Las Vegas! 🤣

Have you seen Star Wars lately? I dont think some movies from our childhood are standing the test of time like those from our parents generation have.
Growing up we were rural and didn’t have an antenna with decent reception growing up but were able to watch on video
Never rented any but had a selection lot of John Wayne and westerns
But one I’m sure to have watched 100 times is a movie called Kelly’s heroes a Clint Eastwood movie
Recorded it off free to air last year and I can say I’ve watched it twice since and will most likely watch it again in the new year
Definitely worth watching imo

I'm open minded. There is just so much about this life I don't think we are evolved enough to even come close to comprehending. I get freaked out when I think of space. Because we simply cannot conceive infinity.

Granted, I've never taken psychedelics, so....

I'm also really curious about déja vu. And frequencies. The spectrum of human observation capabilities is infinitesimal considering the spectrum. Dogs hearing is a prime example.

As for Harper, well there is synchronicity and there are things that are so unlikely I can't dismiss as coincidence.

I mean, that's not looking at the clock and thinking "it's ALWAYS 12.34 when I look at the time!".

I don't think many people these days even know the book or movie, let alone name their daughter after it's author...to me it's one of those little signs of interconnectedness.

Believer, cynical, agnostic.... All good with me, but one thing for certain is if you ever meet someone saying they know all this you've met a liar!

A good old black n white cowboy movie is always good for putting the brain on ice especially in festive season .Pulp Fiction is about the only movie I can cop more than 3 times ,this day n age
