I'm optimistic...

Believe it or not I'm optimistic about next year…..Think about what we won't have:

1\. An under-performing sook whose attempted to undermine Potter since he became coach.

2\. Possibly TWO bog stock average centres who haven't mustered a good game between them since 2011.

3\. A boys club (With Marshall and his besties Heighno and Beau gone, we won't have to put up with some of that garbage we witnessed on TFS last year)

4\. Possibly Braith and Moltzen who are without doubt the worst halves/fullbacks in the NRL.

Now think about what we will have next year:

1\. The two best young halves in the game (Brooks and Moses)

2\. Further development of young players who've already had a taste of FG (BMM, big Ava, Simona, Korobeite, Nofo, Sue, Sirro etc.)

3\. A new culture (young players can form their own culture without being too badly influenced by boys club members who are leaving)

4\. GOOD pickups considering what's on the market (Austin, Patterson, Richards, Taupau though not too keen on Halatau)

Thoughts forumers?

I'm not overly optimistic. Not even close.

You need to surround young players with a quality culture.

We are a basket case at present. Their true talent will never flourish in the current situation.

I think will rightly we favourites for the spoon next year. Not because we have a lack of talent, ut because the club is a dysfunctional disgrace at present.

AHX, when we went asking the NRL for financial assistance in May I thought they would only grant us this under one condition:

That the board comprises of 10 wests tigers supporters who have no allegiance to either faction..

as long as we still have a club next year and can afford to buy the odd football to use at games then I agree completely!
The whole structure, roster, administration etc. of this club has needed blowing up for a few years. This year has certainly done that.
Now if only the board/merger structure could be obliterated and re-done we'd be right.

Add to this:

1\. the departure of "Rolls" Royce Simmons the worst defensive coach in the history of the modern game.

2\. A CEO who actually communicates with the members and fans and is proven at a successful club.

I am also optimistic and I hope Potter stays and we finally become the Wests Tigers and not some fractured joint venture!

Thanks for this Citizen cub, I needed something positive to read, because last night was a disgrace. Things are worse than I thought! But your right, next year is looking better; I hope!! 😛ray:

Im happy with some of the guys we have bought…..taupau,Pateson,Richards,they should add something to our side.

And the improvement of Simona,Nofa,Sue and Siro bodes well, same for the form of our younglings in Brooks and Moses,

Its not all doom and gloom,in fact its quite exciting times ahead with all the new blood.

Chins up I say!!

There is a lot of positives not more so that getting rid of the deadwood, the board situation will be resolved I have faith in that . Whether Mike Potter can coach well after the Perfect Storm he has dealt with this season hard to tell but the guy needs to get a fair go .If by chance mid season next year all is not well then look for a new coach for 2015 and at least he was given the opportunity.

As long as the board give whoevers in whatever role a fair go, with sufficient support…we just all need to head down bum up work bloody hard for a few years with a common goal, with EVERYONE at the club all on the same page...then I can cop whatever results ensue

Seeing leaks everywhere, people undermining others at the club, the backstabbing and lies....its hard to cop

And Keith Lulia his joining our club to.

Well now that changes everything

Cheer up you sad sacks, we've signed Keith Lulia. Gonna turn this club into a powerhouse

It's a work in progress. We will be were Penrith are now next year. They came 15th last year i think and now are hovering around the 8 with all these young guns coming up for them too. They also let go Jennings and Lewis like we did with out 'stars.'

Be happy if we had a season a little bit better than theirs. But top 10 is alright.

I think we may do well next year but we need to drop the underperformers. I think last night shows how one or two nuffy players can ruin your chances of a win.

I really think we can have a great pack and quality outside backs next year. I'm worried about our halves because lots of players don't step up to NRL level.

So true steve especially when you're biggest liabilities are in the halves….

That's right - hard to think that if we play Brooks for Anasta and Sirro for Ayshford how we could have been worse off last night.

I like the optimism - fingers crossed we get our act together in 2014\. All the players need to be read the riot act!

The outside backs are good. The forwards are on the improve. The fullback is improving with every game. The halves are shit and Farah has been taking the wrong option too many times this year.
