Inguinal Hernia

Currently sitting in bed wide awake not being able to sleep due to discomfort and pain. I'm getting surgery on the 18th of this month to repair an incompletely reducible right inguinal hernia. Just wondering who else has had surgery to fix an inguinal hernia and what their experiences were during their hospital stay and the weeks/months afterwards.

Any information would be great and would help to ward off the boredom

Yeah pal been there I know how you feel . Til you have surgery go to the chemist and buy a wheat bag heat it in the microwave to ease the pain . I had one on my left side and now have a small one on the right , after the surgery had difficulty getting up pretty much had to roll out of bed also helps if someone is caring for you . Other than that was back running after 2 weeks no heavy lifting for a month about 5 kg max

Running after 2 weeks?! Sounds good to me! Planning on starting fresh next year with a new workout regime and getting my life sorted. Reaching the age where I'm no longer a kid anymore.

Getting the surgery done at the Sydney Adventist Hospital which happens to be where I work. Being operated on by Dennis Smart, supposedly he's highly recommended by a lot of past patients

I had a ruptured bicep tendon fixed there last year. Good hospital with good staff, I hope you recover well.
