Interesting coach movement Matt Parish

Heard today that Matt Parish has asked and has been granted a release to come back to Sydney to coach! So there seems somewhere there is movement in the coaching ranks.

I saw this too and was wondering where he might end up. There are a few vacancies currently or coming up. I remember he was considered for Potter's job at one stage.

I can imagine that Ricky has chewed up a heap of assistant coaches over the years

Probably just wants to be closer to his girl friend, just hope he has a AVO out against her x hubby, but seriously being in Canberra as Ricky's assistant with a battling side to help coach would be no fun at all

would like to see how he goes as assistant with maybe payten dropping back to 20s where he did a great job and getting more experience that way.

however with a team of potter, kidwell and parish- the players' heads will be chewed off… esp if roach is still doing the talks.

Didn't he coach in the ESL as a caretaker for like 6 weeks and all the players said he was no good. I could have him confused with someone else ( or jumbling my details) but I remember being very excited Potter got the gig over him for something along those lines.

Parish would dust Hadley and not only would I pay to see it, I'd help stump up for his bail money (as would half of Sydney.)

Parish has nothing over Potter. Why change, when Potters got them in good spot. If we were down the bottom with the Sharks. Then yeah.. Starting looking around for a new coach. We're on equal points with Brisbane, NZ and Melbourne (22) only 2 points behind Souths and Easts. At the start of the season, if someone said that's were we'd be come round 20\. I'd have told them no chance.

No coach previously connected to Wests Magpies, Balmain Tigers or Wests Tigers has ever brought success or lasted at the WT. Sheens brought us a premiership and Potter kicked life back into us.

For a club like Manly having a former player as head coach works, it's been a proven formula.

For a club like WT having a former player as head coach doesn't work, also a proven formula.
