Well done Alien, Camden Hospital used to have a very popular maternity section before it was closed for some unknown reason, not like the area isn't full of kids!!

I am just wondering when was it closed down? They saved my life at Camden Hospital.

You've got me there Alien can't say exactly what year but I'm pretty sure the last state government closed it there was a fair bit of fuss in the local paper as you can imagine when a maternity ward is closed, guessing during the last 10 years but stand to be corrected. Glad they saved your life. I have always got good service out of the staff there whenever I've had to take the family to casualty etc.

Well I was born there and the day I was born I stopped breathing and my heart stopped a few times. Supposedly I was gone for quite a while. 😕

Glad you pulled through, at the very least we need all the supporters we can get  (just joking)

My kids were born in December 2006, and September 2009.

In 2006, we were not able to birth at Campbelltown, but we were able to use their maternity facilities after our son was born. I remember in passing the midwifes saying that it hadn't been even 12 months since they had closed it off for birthing.

in 2009, Camden has since been closed off for maternity as well as birthing. :frowning:

How are you Bob, good to see you on board, I played junior footy @ Leichhardt oval when it went east west & went to school @ Ibrox Park just up the road & i now live in Bradbury. One thing you said & you are right there should only be Wests Tigers teams playing & i used to follow the pies but both them & Balmain are gone so we have to stop all the silly bickering & follow the Wests Tigers. Once again welcome aboard Bob.

Thanks for the welcome Tigerbengi, my first home was at Leumeah in Barcoo Ave a stones throw from the Oval and Tennis Courts, I used to walk down to the Oval whenever a Group 6 match was played Campbelltown City, Campbelltown Collies, Oakdale, The Oaks,Leumeah etc, free entry in those days.
I hadn't been back to that area since we moved to Mittagong some 25years ago when I took a CSS membership this year for the Wests Tigers home games…..love it. Huge changes since the early days lots of open space then, still expect to see a steam train racing over the crossing at Leumeah Station.......AH the memories
Bob.
