I think the reason why Stuart didn't respiond when Ayshford's name was brought up was because he didn't want to embarrass thje poor kid on national television. SOO 3, no way. He's been good for the past 2-3 weeks and that's about it. No doubt he's a star player for the future but really, he had a blinder a few weeks ago against Newcastle, followed it up with a good performance against the Warriors and was just above average against the Storm.
May I suggest you have a look at the statistics for the Storm game. Blake was the leading attacking player with 132 metres. I went through the tape again last night and please be assurred that Ayshford was the only player to be consistently RUNNING STRAIGHT. That is why he gained so much ground with his runs.
In addition, he was among our top performers in the run home and the semi-finals last year.

Because he plays on the right I think he is unlikely. But there is a lot of rubbish in this thread about Blake only having played a couple of good games. I have had a very critical view of Blake since he debuted against the Warriors a couple of seasons ago, principally because of his apparent inability to get his winger away. He also had some defensive issues in the early part of last year. However he has come on in leaps and bounds in the past 12 months. He is now a very strong runner of the ball with an unusual but effective step. He has shown that he is not the slow coach he was painted as and his defence is rock solid. He may never be a SOO player but some of the tutting tutting about him not being in that class seems way off the mark to me and I agree with Mighty Maggie.
